Artist Point should we go??

We have eaten here 3xs (one time for Christmas dinner! :santa:) and have enjoyed it EVERY time!
We love the food, the atmosphere, the service...the last time the chef even came out and chatted with us and sent out complimentary sorbet before our dessert!
Definitely worth $$$ (or 2TS credits!) :cutie:

My husband who loves Salmon had their signature Oak Plank Salmon and was not impressed.... He said he had better Salmon at the Hoop de doo show (He does not eat beef or chicken) WHile the restaurant is beautiful I can think of better signature restaurants to eat at - Narcoosees and California Grill come to mind...

We went last summer and while it was good it wasn't great. It is convenient if staying at WL though but it wasn't worth the 2 TS we used. We have enjoyed other 1 and 2 TS restaurants a lot more - California Grill, Flying Fish, Le Cellier, Tutto Italia

Years ago it was our favorite Disney restaurant. But as its reputation grew, so did the prices.

And that is what is disappointing, I used to think it was a nice upscale restuarant with good food, excellent wine and reasonable prices (for a Disney restaurant). Now that it is supposed to be a "Signature" restaurant, all I think of is that it is way overpriced.

Artist Point was the first time I have ever had Cedar Plank Salmon, loved it so much I learned to cook it myself.

We really enjoy Artist Point. For some reason I find it's a lot quieter than most Disney restaurants. The food was excellent and we had a nice window seat with a nice view.

Artist Point is one of my "must dos" when I go to WDW. But everyone is different. I would suggest checking out the menu and deciding if the food is something you are interested in.

My family went last November and I had the salmon and thought it was great. Service seemed to be lacking as our waiter was not too attentive. Overall the food was good as the family seemed very satisifed, but IMO not good enough to be worth 2 TS.

We enjoyed the food. We are thinking of making it our Xmas dinner this year. We love the Wl:lovestruc

Yes I tend to agree PLUS the fact is that when we last went it just wasn't that good or worth the extra $$$. I once LOVED AP and their Cedar Plank Salmon but the last time it came out very undercooked (I would have sushi if I want my salmon raw but I'm not into raw fish). Once it was sent back it came back like rubber, salmon is pretty hard to cook once it's taken off the grill. For the amount they charge they should have made a new piece. My dd's salmon was cooked ok but we almost needed a magnifying glass to find it. For a $10 kid's meal they could have spared a little larger piece. We also barely saw our server. So we've not returned since unfortunately.

Maybe you'll have better than luck than we did but with those prices I'm just not willing to give it another try when we can visit other establishments we know are good (or if they're having an "off" night at least they'll correct the problem adequately).

I've enjoyed it both times I've eaten there and will be eating there a third time in Sept. I've had the mushroom soup, buffalo steak, mussels, salmon, and the berry cobbler. All were very good.

We love the food and the atmosphere. A nice break from the hectic pace of the parks. The service has always been excellent, too.

We ate there for the first time in March and really enjoyed it. I had the seared scallops (which were very good, but I have a soft spot for seared scallops) and my DH had the pork chops which he said was excellent. Our kids even enjoyed their meal but they both ordered off the kids menu. Since my DH and I were celebrating our 10 yr. anniversary that week, they gave us all personalized menus and a slice of anniversary cake that my DH and I got to share....very good as well. We will definately be returning here again.

I have been there several times (most recently Feb 2009) and think it is quite good. The food, service and wine list are excellent. The ambience is a little lacking, but it is well worth trying if you have never been there.

It is not at the top of my list of favorites of the Disney signatures but it's not at the bottom of the list either. The positives are that for the most part, it's one of the quieter dining experiences at WDW and the service has always been good here. The biggest negative is the total lack of ambience; I detest the early cabin decor. I think the food is good, not "wow".

We've eaten here a couple of times, but it has been about five years since we were last there. The food is excellent! The service was also very gracious. I highly recommend it! (the smokey portabello mushroom soup was to die for!)

I have been there once, and my parents on a separate time......both times were great, and my dad says its his favorite Disney restaurant :)
