Artist Point reviews

Please tell me about Artist Point. DH and I are thinking about our 15th Anniversary dinner there.

If you go to the Disney Dining Reviews section and do a Search you'll probably find some. We enjoy the room, the wine list and the food. The waitstaff is top notch in our opinion. I've been told Chef Al has replaced some old stand-bys with new items. There is a new manager there also (this month) so things may change since the last time we dined there. Read the reviews with that in mind, you could have a totally different experience with the changes that have taken place. Give it a try ;)

We highly enjoyed our meal there! I ordered the mushroom soup and for my entree the buffalo steak. Both were out of this world! They have a wonderful wine list as well. Our service was great, and the atmosphere was very nice. I would definitely recommend it.

I loved the buffalo, and the salads.
The price is a bit steep though, but then again nothing is cheap in Disney.
:confused3

OMG we have eaten here 3 different times. We love this place. Everytime I have gotten the Buffalo steak...it is out of this world. When we went there for our anniversary, I had mentioned when I made the ADRs that it was our anniversary and when they brought out our dessert, written in chocolate on the plate was Happy Anniversary. We also went there for my DS's girlfriends birthday, and they made up special menus with "happy birthday" on it.

Wonderful place to eat...I highly recommend it to anyone even with kids!!!

I'm glad redzinner responded, b/c she knows that restaurant. :goodvibes

It is an amazing place, the decor and ambiance is worth at least one trip. But the menu is diverse enough to satisfy most; the wine list is amazing (you can't go wrong with a red from the PacNW, imho), and the waitstaff is truly attentive and pleasant, to say the least.

You shouldn't be disappointed. :flower3:

DH and I ate there in June and it's now a must-do. We had the venison spring rolls as an app; very good with yummy sauce! He had the buffalo, which he really enjoyed and I had the roasted chicken (which I usually NEVER get chicken in a restaurant) and it was also quite good. The sweet potato hazelnut concoction was HEAVENLY!!! We also drank a lot (before dinner at the Territory Lounge AND during the meal) so I don't quite remember all of dessert. I think I had the hazelnut chocolate torte and I think DH had the berry cobbler? :confused3

It just felt very nice, upscale, but relaxed. It wasn't a crazy buffet with a million screaming kids and characters making the rounds, or a loud, loony restaurant where the servers give you a hard time. We felt very grown up. Now, not to say that kids aren't welcome there. There were children sitting around us and we are taking DS when we return in December.

Sorry to hear the management changed. The manager come out and greeted us personally at our table, asked how we were enjoying our meal, and even gave us his card. Hopefully everything's still alright! I'll let you know in 38 days!

While the food is good (especially if you like Buffalo), the ambiance is sort of like having dinner with Ben, Hoss and Little Joe over on the Ponderosa. It's probably the least Romantic of all the WDW Signature restaurants.

It sounds so good. I can't wait to try it out. We will be there in 34 days. I'm waiting for the ok for him to take off of work. He's been working 10+ hours for 45 days or so straight since Hurricane Ike. Anyway........Do they accept the dining plan? if so is it on eor two credits?

Thanks

Buffalo steak no longer on the menu...it is now braised short ribs.

Two new desserts also. More changes coming!

Now see, Uncle R, I have this memory of a kind of romantic atmosphere at AP. It was probably just because it was so quiet in there compared to most
WDW restaurants, and hubby and I had a lovely evening there on our very first empty-nesters trip. Admittedly, the only other signature I've eaten at is California Grill, so my standards for quiet and romantic at WDW may be too low! :rotfl2:

Point noted! It certainly is more quiet than California Grill. And I will say the atmosphere is in keeping with the whole Wilderness Lodge theme.

We loved our dinner there last month. Romantic? Maybe not, but it is beautiful, IMO. My son did have the buffalo steak and felt it was one of the best steaks he ever tasted. I had a big problem with appetizer envy though...I ordered the salad but could not keep a spoon out of my mother's bowl of mushroom soup. I have never tasted a soup so delicious in my life! The berry cobbler was fantastic.

If you are not happy after 15 years feel free to eat there. If you want a special experience and a good meal go to any number of restaurants in "The World" for better food. Suggestions, if price is no option Victoria and Alberts. Jiko in AKL is much better and a nicer looking restaurant. Even Brown Derby in HS has better food than Artist Point.
