i could use some advice ( i haven't been to WDW in years) which restaurant would be better for New Year's Eve Artist Point or Wolfgang Puck my 21 month old daughter will be with us?

thanks

Hands down... Artist Point. A disney signature restaurant on property, spacious seating and quiet, reserved atmosphere. All that said, if your talking about this New Years Eve (2009) it probably is already booked (as will be Puck's) but it won't hurt to try.

Artist Point is a favorite. Love the mushroom soup, buffalo filet, and berry cobbler. There are MANY Wolfgang Puck restaurants--but only ONE Artist Point.

Definitely Artist Point. But you may not be able to get an ADR at this late date...

Agreed. I'd have to imagine Wolfgang Puck would be insanely crowded purely for being at DTD. Plus the food is better at Artist's Point. It's my favorite Disney restaurant. There also seems to be more room between tables and all that, the last time I went to WP, I felt like the people at the next table were in my lap. I'd have to imagine because it's a one credit TS AND popular, they try to maximize as much space as they can.

Off topic, Artist's Point has totally inspired me to make buffalo for xmas dinner. I can't wait.

Are you talking Wolfgang Puck's Cafe or Wolfgang Puck's The Dining Room located upstairs above the cafe? We like the food a little better upstairs than at Artist Point but it's probably not as child friendly up there. If you are talking about the Cafe (downstairs), then Artist Point has better food.

Both places will be a fairly long meal and will probably be packed on NYE.

I am not a fan of Wolfgang Puck.

I usually love Artist Point, it is one of my favorite places to dine on Disney property. However, we were there last week and had a very disappointing meal. The kitchen was having serious problems. I ordered the Penn Cove mussels for my appetizer, and when they were brought to the table 2/3rds of them were closed. Two other people had the portobello soup--it was lukewarm. The runners dropped the food and took off, so there was no way to send them back right away. Three of us had the salmon for a main. Two of the dishes were completely overcooked, and the third was raw. And I mean, raw. I like medium-rare salmon, this salmon had seen heat for maybe 30 seconds a side. It was cold and mushy. Again, noone around to check on the food.

Some positives: the venison springrolls and the wild boar were delicious, the truffle fries were tasty, and the children liked the food they ordered.

Normally, I would have addressed the problems at the time, but one of our party fell ill during the main course and we had to leave quickly. The meal was over $400 without dessert, and so disappointing for what is usually a favorite.

Luckily, all of our other meals were very good. (Jiko, Flying Fish, Raglan Road, Sanaa, Tokyo Dining, Kona Cafe, Ohana)

like WP, but it doesn't compare to Artist Point.
