We have dinner ADRs at Artist Point on Sunday, Nov 4. I know that jackets are not required, but what is the appropriate attire for this restaurant. We are just trying to figure out what to pack for that evening. Thanks!

At any of the Signature TS places, DH wears a collared golf-type shirt and, depending on the weather, either long pants (even "dress" jeans  ) or "nice" bermudas. I usually wear a blouse and either capris or long pants. :thumbsup2

This is what we'd wear to a "nice" restaurant here in NC. :goodvibes

IIRC, only V & A requires more "dress-up" clothes. :)

I thought that Artist Point had the same dress code as Yauchtsman steakhouse which is no jeans or shorts? I've eaten there and never noticed anyone not in smart attire and definately haven't seen any men in shorts or jeans. Last time the men in our party wore short sleeved shirts and trousers/pants.

When we ate at Jiko (AKL's signature dining restaurant) in 2005, we both wore collared, short sleeve button down shirts and khaki shorts, and did not feel at all out of place.

Any time we've been to any of the Sig. TS's in warm weather, we've seen many men in long shorts (some even in short shorts), and in cooler weather, plenty of people wearing "nice" jeans. IIRC, no tank-tops, "workout" clothes, or pool attire are allowed (although one time in Jiko's there were folks who seem to have "jogged" in from the parks :rotfl2: ). Either Disney has relaxed the rules somewhat, or they're not as stringent as many people think. :confused3

Maybe it has to do with the feel of the resort; the YC seems to many folks to be more formal in atmosphere than the AKL or WL, so that may account for folks dressing up for the Steakhouse. IIRC, the GF Sigs. have the same effect on the diners' attire. :goodvibes

OK....so it sounds like a button down shirt and khakis will be fine.

I don't mind being the best dressed person in a place, but I hate being the worst.;)

Thanks!

When we were there in Sept for my birthday dinner, DSO wore a nice Capri pant set, I wore a nice blouse and pants and each of the boys wore collared shirts w/ Mickey ties and new cargo shorts. We didn't feel over or underdressed, so I guess we were "just right" :)
Enjoy your meal, it is a lovely restaurant.

When we went to Jijos there was a family who brought their 2 children in in wet swim suits and sat them on towel on the seats and no one said a word to them! The one and only time I have ever eaten at Jikos and I'm sorry when you are paying that type of money and the resturant does have a dress code they should enforce it! Never planning on eating there again!

Rude behaviour on the part of those people - some people just have no class!

We always eat at Artist Point 2x on our trips - and DH usually wears a collared shirt and nice shorts and docksiders - I wear nice shorts and top. They really aren't very strict about the dress code - jeans, tennis shoes, dress up - whatever. The only thing that they say they don't allow is bathing attire, t-shirts with slogans (rude or otherwise), and in general, looking like "something the cat dragged in":rotfl: There is a section on the DIS site that talks about the "requested" attire under the Dining section I believe.

Enjoy your dinner - we'll be there enjoying in just a few weeks!

Just wanted to say that we ate there in March and enjoyed our meal.. I had on capris and a nice top, DH worse a golf shirt with long pants and we were fine. I did not see anyone dressed that fancy but I did not see anyone underdressed if you know what I mean..

It's funny at Artist Point; sometimes they enforce, sometimes they don't. The first time we went there, men in tshirts were either being asked to return to their room to change, or were being offered white, collared, button-down shirts from a box of shirts they had. The second time we went, they didn't seem to be enforcing the dress code at all, because we saw several people who definitely didn't meet it.

As someone said above, it's definitely better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. ;)
