Article on Disneyland freaks

Did you see all of those tattoos on that one guy??? Scary!!

Do you have roller coaster tattoos like that Barry? ;)

Oh my! I can't imagine why the one guy doesn't have a girlfriend!

I had to email that article to my best friend. She is always saying that I am the most obsessed Disney person ever. I can't wait till she reads it!:earsgirl:

I think that's pretty scary. If it weren't DisneyLand, and it were a person they were talking about, it would be called stalking.

How does one finance on obsession like that? I had thought that if you were Disney obsessed, you would just get a job working for Disney....but to go to the parks every day, just to see how the painting is coming along? COme on, a little bit extreme!!!

You have to wonder how these people finance this stuff. It doesn't sound like they hold down regular jobs. How does the one in college get any work done? I don't have time to go to the grocery store once a week let alone Disneyland nearly every day.

This sounds like a pretty unhealthy obsession to me. Not that there's anything unhealthy about Disney per se, but these people seem rather unwilling to face reality.

There's another thread about this and as I posted there - yes these people are strange, but the article is old and outdated.

One of the regulars is talking about the return of the Electrical Parade - we saw that in February of '02 back at Disney. Another talks about Blast! which was replaced with an Alladin show a year ago. Then they talk about Lilo and Stitch - great movie but its been in home release for how long?

Point is yes these people are over the top with Disney, but why have the article now? It just dawned on me - the accident that happened at Disney. Is the paper just trying to look up anything that puts Disney in a bad light? I think this article does this to some extent by showing the "wierd" side of Disney.

Starnge!

this is a lot more common than you realize, I saw people like this at Hersheypark when I was a season pass holder...and actually from being there regularly I had befriended many management people and they would ask me to let them know if I noticed anything they should be aware of, so you can get the feeling of being a part of the park, therefore saying We..... as for being there often..there was a period of time when I would leave the office after a stressful day, go to the park and ride a few rides/ catch a show or two to unwind.....remeber the guy writing the article doesn't like the whole park thing so he does appear to give a negative slant to the whole article..perhaps making these guys sound worse than they really are......who are we to judge....????

one other point..as for them having jobs, the article only stated they were there 6-7 days a week, but didn't say all day..perhaps they worked night jobs..or went to the park after their workday...is it an obsession..or a hobbie, I know guys who spend every waking minute watching ESPN, or some people spend hours a day online/messageboards...???...LOL
