We will be staying at the DoubleTree on our next trip and I've never stayed anywhere that wasn't an easy walk to the parks before.

We want to grab Starbucks prior to going to DLR each morning so we were planning on walking to the corner of Harbor and Katella, grabbing our breakfast, and then going to the Red Lion stop to catch the bus. I noticed this is the last stop on the route. Has anyone ever used it before? Does that one get full? It seems silly to take an Uber that short of a distance but we also will be walking so much in the parks we want to save our feet a bit. On a side note, I don't love ART so if anyone has other ideas I'm open.

The Toy Story lot is right next to Red Lion and right across from the street half a block from you that leads to the Convention Center. Just walk in there and take the shuttle. Free and no schedule to worry about.
We stayed at Doubletree last weekend for D23. There is a coffee place in the lobby that is a small Starbucks. They have the cups and straws and napkins and everything of a Starbuck's, but do have a smaller menu. So if you don't want anything fancy, just hit that.
I always get a decaf latte and they don't have decaf espresso if that's your thing. I went for Chai lattes instead.

Definitely walk to the Toy Story Lot and take that bus for free. I'd avoid the ART if I were you.

Thanks! We got the hotel for such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. It will be a whole new experience not staying across the street.

If you are going to walk to the Starbucks at Katella and Harbor (next to the Walgreens), why bother walking back the other way to the Red Lion for ART or to TS for the shuttle? Just keep walking to the parks -- you're halfway there already. Do as the pp suggested and get your first coffee at the DoubleTree, then catch the free shuttles at TS. Once you get to the parks, you have a choice: you can Mobile Order and pick up a more substantial breakfast at Starbucks DTD or enter one of the parks and pick up something at one of the Starbucks locations there (Market House in DL and FF&P in DCA).
NB If you decide to use Mobile Ordering via the Starbucks app, there are two stores in DTD: Starbucks Downtown Disney (main store next to WOD) and Starbucks Downtown Disney West II (west end, next to Lego Store and near EOS).

We are at the Hilton with a great rate of $99 a nite. I see how close the parking lot is and that is our new plan for getting to the park.
