Art of Animation: TV and Coffee Maker Questions

Hello! I'm staying at Art of Animation in the Little Mermaid section. I'm wondering:

1. Can I plug a portable DVD player into the TV? (Maybe through an HDMI port?)

2. Could I run the coffee maker, without coffee in it, to get hot water for tea and instant oatmeal? Or would it probably taste a bit like coffee? Any other ways to get boiling water in a Little Mermaid room? (I'm flying down so I can't bring an electric kettle).

Yes I make tea usually in the room and it's fine! Oatmeal is a good idea.

If you check your bag, you can bring a kettle! I know it's a pain but I've flown with a toaster, bagels, and peanut butter in my bag before for easy and non-perishable breakfast.
