ART cost

I think I might be confused. We haven't been to visit since Sept. '02 and things may have changed. We traditionally stay at the Hampton Inn on Harbor Blvd. We never have had to pay for the shuttle that stops at a few of the hotels right there. Is there a charge now? Or is ART different? Thanks in advance for the info. we are planning on heading to see the mouse in Sept.

The ART charges for ages 10+ and is $3 per day, or $9/multi-day pass. You can also get a family pass for $36, which is good if you have more than 4 people who are 10+ in your party.

Thanks Mary Jo, but, I am dense this morning I guess because I am still confused. Is the Art and the Hotel Shuttle the same? OR different? Is ART the public transportation for the area and the shuttle is private? OR do you use public transportation to get to the park now? Or something that I am totally clueless.....

Most of the hotels that used to have private shuttles have discontinued those. There are still some that have them. Some of the Garden Grove hotels share a private shuttle, I thought that the Hampton Inn might be one of them but I found this on their website:
"Shuttle to / from the Disneyland Resort provided by ART"

The hotel shuttles are complimentary. The ART has a fee.

One thing I have noticed about several hotels is that they list shuttle service being available but don't mention it being a service you have to pay for until you arrive or call first and specifically ask. I think this is just a tad dishonest.

As for free vs comp - my general rule is that unless it specifically says "free" or "complimentary" then you should expect to pay for it. That way if it really is free you're pleasantly surprised, instead of being irritated that you have to pay.
