I will be flying down by myself and I have some questions. First what airport should I fly into, when I tried to look up tickets it said there were 2 airports in Orlando one was MCO and the other was ORL, so which one should I fly into? Also would it be okay to fly in the day of arrival or would it be better to arrive a day early and stay in a hotel? And finally how will I get to Check in at Vista Way from the airport? Do they provide transportation or will I have to get a taxi? Sorry for all of these questions but I will be all by myself and I'm a little nervous, I've never traveled by myself before. Thanks!

The airport is MCO.
I haven't done the program, but I've heard it's much better to arrive thenight before and get to check in at around 8.
They do not provide transportation, so you can either take a taxi or pay for the Mears shuttle. If you're coming in the night before, and staying at a hotel, I believe there is one right across the street from Vista Way -- I've heard that's the best place for CP'ers to stay.

:)

I personally think it is best to arrive the same day, that way you are not lugging your luggage around from airport to hotel to Vista. Of course, this might mean you won't have the opportunity to freshen up before hand, but this didn't bother me as the convenience of going straight to Vista outweighted the added expense of a hotel, transportation and general hassles.

I actually flew down on my day of arrival and took the Mears shuttle. They are very used to cp's and take you right into Vista, so even if you are a little razzled, they know what they are doing and can help you out - if you can make it from the plane to the shuttle, you're all set.

you should come in a night early if you can and stay at a disney hotel like pop or all star because dinsey gives you a free ride to their hotels from the airport you just have to tell them when you make the reservations. Paying for a taxi from allstar to vista way should be cheaper then paying for a ride from the airport to the hotel next to vista way

Also, if you stay at a Disney resort they will send you luggage tags so when you check your bags at your local airport you never have to mess with them again. You just hope on the ME (magical express) and go to the resort and your bags will show up in your room sometime later.

This is a big plus, but be careful. Sometimes the luggage doesn't arrive in your room until the next day, especially if you flew in late the previous day. And since check-in for the program is at 9, and check out for the resort is 11...it sounds like a messy hassle.

If you have enough money to stay at a value, I do suggest that. Magical Express is free (but I suggest picking up your own luggage for the reasons above) and then you just have to worry about getting a taxi the next day to Vista.

You could always try to pair up with someone who is driving down. That way you could stay at the Disney Value Resorts the night before check in and split the cost of the room. Plus you would then have free transportation to the hotel and could ride over with whoever you stay with for check in.

Wow, Minnesota eh? That's going to be quite a trip. How long do you expect that's going to take?

I really dont know....I have driven down there before for vacations....once it took us about a day and a half and the other time it took three days....I am planning on leaving on the 24th to get there on the 27th. Its not the most fun drive, but I really want to have a car down there. :)

If you are looking for a hotel near Vista, there is a Holiday Inn Sunspree right across the street. It was not badly priced either!

if it were me, i would arrive the night before, especially if i'm flying. if you plan to arrive the day of by plane, you never know what could go wrong at the airport. an example. when i younger when my parents would ship my off to overnight camps on my own, by air. one particular summer my flight was delayed then it was canceled. there were no more flights going to that particular location i was heading that day (do to inclement weather). so i had to leave and come back for the next flight out which was the very next day. and the same thing happened, again. my flight was canceled. this time the weather was nice and sunny. but there were other flights going out that day so i had to wait. so if it were me i'd plan on arriving the day/night before check in. this way you know that you're there and won't be late for check in. that's just my $.02

I'm flying in the day of this time. I don't want to fly in the night before and stay alone somewhere and then have to lug my stuff over to Vista Way. Once I get going, I need to keep going, not stop lol.

I drove last time and driving=LONG CAR TRIP (from Pennsylvania). That and that's a little more money in my pocket since I won't have to get gas every week.
