Hi everyone,
Just decided to go to WDW in september, but now there is a problem at work about vacationtime. Probably we will arrive at WDW on Labor Day now. Can someone tell me about that holliday?
Is it only one day and will most people leave that night or do the crowds stay longer?
You might consider this a stupid question, but I am living in Europe so I really don't have an idea:D
Thanks again:wave:

I've never been to WDW that week, but my guess would be that you would be fine. The holiday is only one day, or rather one weekend, and I do think most people would leave that night. I know that in New Jersey and several surrounding states, the children go back to school that week, either Tuesday or Wednesday. I think you will be fine. Have a great trip.

We went on Labor Day 3 years ago (2001) and would probably never choose this weekend again. It was busy, busy, busy!!! The crowds did drop off dramatically beginning on Tuesday but were quite heavy on Sat./Sun./and Mon. If you go then, make sure to take full advantage of EE and using Fastpass. Also, it is HOT!!!

I don't think you could ever pick a horrible time to visit the world...there are just better times than others. Have a great trip.

Oh, but our plane arrives on mondayafternoon and I don't think we will go to the parks then, because of our jetlag. We will start partying:D tuesdaymorning.
And I am just figureing out, what we will do with the heat.
But I must say last summer it was above 90 degrees for a long time here in the Netherlands as well.
And nobody has airconditioning overhere, just a few restaurants and supermarkets. So I spent a lot of time in the supermarket last summer:D
So the idea of airco everywhere at WDW helps a lot!

If you don't plan on starting your partying plans until Tuesday....you will have a wonderful time. The wait time for rides is basically non-existent. The crowds are just wonderful. If you are ready to deal with the heat...you'll be fine. There are always the shops to visit when you begin to get a little hot. ::yes::

I arrived on Labor Day in 2002, and we didn't go to a Disney Park that day, but Universal Studios was Dead - (and I mean to leave in that capital D! :) )

We didn't wait for ANYTHING - except Men In Black. It was about a 10-15 minute wait. Not bad at all.

I especially wouldn't worry about crowd levels if you're not going to a park. Everyone leaves that day, and it's a week night, so the evening crowds at Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk should be non-existant.

As for the heat, I'm used to about 80 degrees with about the same level of humidity they have in Florida. The 90 degree heat really didn't bother me.
