Due to a scheduling change, we are arriving in Orlando the night prior to our Disney Reservation. To add a night on is a ton of money and we're not looking to add any more park days either...so I thought we'd get a cheap hotel close to WDW where we could just check in and sleep and be ready nice and early to go check in at our Disney resort and head to the parks....Can anyone recommend a clean, yet inexpensive hotel/motel close by?

Any of the DTD hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. should do nicely for what you are needing. Still on Disney property close to everything but cheaper than a resort price. I did a quick search for all of them for this Friday night (2 queen beds, 2 adults, 2 children) and here were the best rates available:

B-Resort: $129.00
Best Western: $89.00
Wyndham LBV: $89.00
Double Tree: $119.00
Holiday Inn: $119.00
Hilton: $109.00

I got a hotel on W. Irlo Bronson near I-Drive for 50$ a night on (not sure if I can put this here) Hotels.com. 5375 is the address, it's a Super 8. A lot of good reviews if you are just looking for a place to sleep before starting your Disney trip. It is like ten minutes from MK and less from other parks. We got it for the night before and night after our trip since we are driving.

Another option...stay at or near the airport, then get the hotel shuttle back to the airport in the morning and get Magical Express to get to and from Disney. I'm not generally a Priceline fan, but you get often get some really nice rates near the airport that way.

You could also check out roomertravel.com. It's a new site where people can resell priceline/hotwire hotels, only you actually know which hotel it is. Dates can be hit or miss, but deals can be substantial.

We arrived a night early once and stayed at Buena Vista suites. It was a nice one bedroom with free breakfast for $89 thru the Mousesavers newsletter.

Are you renting a car? Will it cost more if you pick it up a day early? How many people? Make sure you include any resort fee and parking fee when comparing prices. I agree with pp, BV Suites is a reasonable choice

this is probably your best option - so you don't need to get a rental car. the hotel shuttle is also free.

where are you staying at in WDW? different hotels are closer to some areas than others. so if you still want a rental car - can give better suggestions

We ended up in the same situation and found a room at CSR for $120.
So we still get DME and can just take the bus to our hotel (Beach Club) for the next seven days.

The cost of an off site hotel was lower, but the price of a cab from the airport would have eaten up our savings.

LBV resort showed up for our dates around $130 a night for 5- any opinions on this one? We have 2 nights prior that we need to book. And we are doing dtd and water parks those 2 days so LBV area is good for us

how much is the value resorts these days - generally when staying onsite use my DVC - so not sure about WDW resort pricing.
