Arriving at the parks at noon... will Maxpass still be worth it?

Hi folks,

My daughter and I decided to go to Disneyland in the morning on a whim. By the time we get there it will be around noon. I'd love to try Maxpass, but by then will it be worth it? Will there be passes left for the good stuff?

On Sunday we're only going for a couple hours before driving home. Won't get it then I don't think.

Thanks!

Look at the app when you arrive at the parks. See what the FP availability is and return times are for the rides you want. If there are still FPs available, then get MP and hit the parks! When we were in the parks last weekend, there were still FPs available for many of the popular rides well into the afternoon.

I probably would, if it was in budget. It seems like a time saver for me. I am hoping to try it when go next, but that wont be for quite awhile.

We used it in August and were late into the park. It worked on all FP rides except RSR. That was completely out of FP and the stand by line was 2 hours! You can only reserve 2 rides at a time and can not reserve another until the first ride time window is up. There were times like with the paper FP where we finished a ride at the beginning of the time window and kept checking the time to see when we could reserve another ride. We also kept hopping back and forth between the parks to make it worth our while.

Not that it's a big deal, but I don't think your description of obtaining FP is entirely accurate. You can definitely hold more than two FP at a time, and the window to pull a new one begins at the START of your return window (unless you're trying to pull for the same ride). Even then, once you've scanned into a ride, you can immediately pull another one even if it is for the same ride.

Just clarifying for others who might be reading along and trying to figure out the system. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!

That wasn't how it worked for us. Unless it was because there were 3 of us and I had all 3 tickets and max passes on my app. What you described I believe worked when we were only in possession of one fast pass. However, once we had two in the system, riding the first of the two rides, it made us wait a specific amount of time before it let us choose another fast pass. And it also could have had something to do with the second being for a ride where the return time was several hours later due to popularity. I wish we could have let us immediately get another after riding. And we could only have up to two fast passes per person at one time.

I don't doubt your experience, but that's not how it's working for most people. You may have hit a bug, or misinterpreted the limitations. There are two limitations:
1) you cannot hold two fast passes for the same ride at once
2) when you get a fastpass, you are blocked out from getting your next one until: a) that window opens, or b) 90 minutes have passed (whichever comes first).

I'm quite certain that there is no "two-at-a-time" limitation, regardless of how many people are in your MaxPass party.

Edited to add: I just checked, and on July 31st, there were two times during the day when I held 3 FPs for my party of 2.
