We arrive in Orlando at 815pm, staying villas WL.... what time will the deliver my luggage, BEFORE midnight??? Thought maybe I should grab it myself, but hubby isn't going with us.. so that is a pain... but then again, want to get a decent nights sleep as we are hitting epcot the next morning. any thoughts??

If you arrive at MCO at 8:15 you should be to your resort around 10:00.
Disney aims to have your luggage delivered to your room within 3 hours of your checking in to the resort. What time you land doesn't matter.

What I suggest you do is pack what you need for the first night in your carry-on. Let DME get your checked bags, but tell your resort to have your bags held until the next day. They will do that! Then all you have to do is call down when you want them the next morning and they will bring them to your room.

I would never pick up my checked bags at MCO if I didn't have to. Why spend even more time at the airport? Let Disney handle your bags and get on your way.:)

ps even if you get your own bags it is always wise to pack for the first night in your carry-on. That way if the airline misdirects your bags, you will still have some of your stuff.

If your flight arrives, ontime, at 8:15, you can expect to be at WL by 9:30. That will get your bags to you around 11:30ish. DME/Disney tell us to expect our bags up to 3 hrs after resort checkin.
If you want to get settled right away, then don't tag those bags and get them yourself and bring them to the DME bus with you. I love not having to worry about my checked bags at WDW, but if I arrive after 7pm, I don't want to be up late, waiting for my bags. I like to get settled and get to sleep for a fresh start in the morning.

Thank you... we are goign to WDW for 2 days, then 7 nights on the Disney Fantasy... so I packed accordingly(WDW stuff in one suitcase and the cruise stuff in the other ones). The cruise clothes suitcases I wasn't even planning on opening!! I will put what we need in the carry on. We can definitely get the others in the morning if they will hold the bags downstairs for me.

9:30 + 3 = 11:30???? :lmao: Is the estimate 2 hours after check in or 3?

I would absolutely NOT do this. What happens if the airline "loses" the cruise bag? Granted, every time a bag has been lost for me, I've gotten it back within 24 hours, but I wouldn't take the chance.

Sorry, I'm a proponent of splitting up clothes so if any one bag goes missing, I can survive. This includes having a carryon with what's needed for the first 24 hours.

Hey! No criticizing the Moderator! We've just been through SuperStorm Sandy!
