Hi all. My friends will be at WDW the week of May 24th. They want to see Fantasmic. They have a couple of questions:

1) How early do they need to be in line? (They won't be doing the dinner package.)
2) Is there a particular day that would be better?
3) Where is the line at?

Any other advice y'all have about that week would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rebecca

We get there at least an hour early, and if the park seems very busy, even a bit earlier. There usually isn't a line, you walk up the entrance and wait if the turnstile isn't open yet. Some people will get there over 2 hours early.

We let our DD bring her gameboy and DH and I people watch :)

We usually get there between an hour to an hour and a half prior to show starting.

30 minutes prior to show, they have a comedy act that comes out and performs. It is really so funny and keeps the kids entertained.

I know an hour can seem like such a long time, but it really goes by pretty fast.

Have fun!!!!!:wave2:

Hey, we'll be there too-and our plane stops in Houston. Fantasmic is offered twice one or 2 nights that week, I know at least Friday, May 28. If they can get to the later show, it's so much better. Last year we lined up about 1/2 hour before the show, there were plenty of extra seats. Tell them that Epcot may be a little more crowded May 25th in the evening, and MK the evening of the 26th, because DVC has an after hours party for its members. And I keep checking the weather for that week-so far no rain scheduled thru Thursday (as far as I've seen).

We were there last week and arrived an hour early and got great seats. Seats were still available 30 minutes after the show, but I wouldn't try any later than that. Time did pass quickly and you can bring in snacks.

Thanks for the answers! Y'all are great! :D

I asked her and she is currently planning to do:

EPCOT - Monday, 24th
MK - Tuesday, 25th
MGM - Wed, 26th
AK - Thurs, 27th

(They are staying offsite, so are avoiding EMH parks.) I saw that there is only one show that night - 9:00 pm. Does that sound right?

We usually go about an hour early. There are a few places across from the entrances to grab a snack before heading up into the amphitheater. (Pizza, burgers, turkey legs, hot dogs, ice cream, etc.) We usually take our supper up with us. We've always been allowed to take the plastic trays right up to the bleachers and eat while we wait. The entrance is just before you get to the RnRC and TT on your right. (The food area is on the left.)

They also sell a few snacks right at the top of the bleachers, but the lines are usually long and there's not a lot of variety.

Also tell them that if it rain earlier in the evening as long as it clears up before the show it will go on. Last May we were able to get seats 10 monutes before it started as it had rained pretty hard for about two or three hours but cleared up about 7-8pm so we took a chance and Fantasmic did go on as scheduled.
