Arrival Gift Basket Ideas from Mickey!

I was searching for this thread, so I thought I would post incase anyone new hasn't seen it. Such great ideas. We are going down in our motor home so I am using it as a travel/we are going to disney basket. Any new ideas would be great. I was thinking about Journals and/or Memory Books so we can make them on the way back from FLA and they could use them as part of thier homework, write a little each day about what they did on Vacation.

If I were to send a box down with a gift basket in it, do you think a CM would put it in our room prior to check in? We are celebrating our 25th anniversay during our trip in May, and I am going to purchase Stephen the Richard Petty Driving Experience. I am putting together a gift box with racing/Disney themed stuff, but will have no way to get it into the room prior to arrival. Do you think someone would put it in for me if I put a note on the box, and then call down prior to our arrival?

WOW, I wish my wife would do something like that for me but I know she would be afraid to spend that kind of money with out talking to me first so there would be no surprise. I love the idea though, I want to do the half day program one of these days but I've read that it is like over $400.

I just found this thread and it is great. Yes, you can get Disney Princess disposable cameras at Target. They are in the photo aisle. I had been planning some surprises for my girls (DD7 and DD4) for when we arrive, and I hadn't figured out how to present them. You guys helped me figure it out. I had already gotten the following:

Lanyards and starter pins
Pal Mickeys

I'd love to get the embroidered Mickey Ears. And I would like to get some things for my wife too. I'm going to look into some earrings and a watch.

Thanks for the ideas...

I also love the idea of the card from Mickey (or maybe a princess in this case). I had bought some cereal and stuff to take with us to have in the room, and I found a box of PRINCESS POP TARTS! Has anyone seen these yet? I'm going to include these in the box too!

Where do you get the Mickey Ears?

what do you do with your "suprise" just bring it with you and put it in the hotel with you - what do you say when it is sitting there?

Good Morning Anyone: I'd love to get some more ideas for my "Welcome to DisneyWorld" gifts from Mickey bags.

I'd love to get some ideas for what to put in a bag for my DW40.
So far I have:

Disney Nemo watch
Ariel earrings
Mickey mouse earrings
pooh pez dispenser
gum

I need some help! :confused3

Here's what I have so far for my 2 daughters (DD4 and DD7).

Pal Mickey
Lanyard w/ pins
autograph pens (we made books together)
Ariel hair thingy and bracelets
princess chap stick
pooh pez dispenser
m&m minis
(I think I'm going to get some MickeyMouse ear beanies from GOAL).

Any other ideas?

I would love to do this but in canada there just is not as much disney stuff to find! The disney sotore here, just has alot of plush toys, and t - shirts!

what about some non disney stuff like a disposable camera, american $ , and other ideas ,would be GREAT! :listen:

I agree with momandsean. I've been trying since last November to make baskets for my sisters for our trip this Nov., and we just don't have that great of a selection.

Hmmmm..... This is a great thread! I'm going to be making gift baskets/bags for my 3 wonderful kids for our upcoming vacation to the 'World'. I love all your ideas for teens, tweens and little people (mine are 13, 9 and 4). I'm just wondering what I could do for Hubby? Maybe have chocolates delivered from the bakery? Any other ideas? :confused3

Oh, I forgot to say that we already have some disposable cameras for the girls from another trip. We got them at Target. One is Hello Kitty and the other is Disney Princesses. We actually ordered more film for them, and the girls are going to reuse them at Disney. Pretty Cheap! I also got some Disney Dollars for their bags too.

Maybe in my wife's bag (it also has my name on it since Mickey wouldn't leave out one person in the family) I'll throw in some extra batteries and film. Maybe some videotapes too...

I also have some pins I got from mousepinsonline.com, and I'll put some of those in my wife's bag too. The store is having a sale now, and each pin is only $1.75.

momandsean
First off, everything is Disney, and each basket is themed; mine is mickey and the gang, lil' sis is Princess, big sis is pooh
So far, I have a few different sheets of stickers for scrapbooking when we get home, chapsticks, pencils, pens, erasers, post it notes, temp. tattoos, note pads, pez dispensers, and that is all I can remember, as the stuff is all at my mom's as I don't have the room at my house.
Before I go, I will make notepads with matching envelopes for them to send letters to friends, address labels for all of their adresses, and some themed box templates for them to put in gifts they've bought for friends. Since I am giving them before we go, I will put in some munchies for on the plane, lots of gum, and a few other odds and ends. It's not going to be anything to amazing, as I'm in school right now :teacher: and had to get a second loan just to live, but I think they will appreciate it just the same. :goodvibes

Give baskets are a great idea, but I'm not sure I would wrap every item as suggested by the original poster.

I perceive a source of the excitement to originate from the fact a gift basket is not the standard arrival expectation of most guest, so surprise. Then, it is a visual experience as your eyes start to focus on all the items in the basket. Of course Mickey Mouse ears or stuffed toy would be the central focus of the basket for a young child but consider if everything was wrapped...not the same impact.

I think gift baskets are a great idea to celebrate the arrival at WDW and by nature are a short lived event of visual excitement followed up shortly by activating your park tickets.

Dear Mickey's Girl: The baskets sound pretty amazing to me, and I'm sure everyone will really appreciate it. I know it's cliche, but it is the thought that counts. And everyone will know how much thought and effort you put into saving all these things.

As far as decorating my bags went, I got some plain white bags from Michael's. I found some Disney books at deep, deep discount $3.00 each or less, and I cut out the pictures and glued them to the bags. I was pretty happy with how they turned out. It was much, much cheaper than buying all of the stickers I was originally planning to put on the bags. Plus, the pictures are bigger, and really do a good job of decorating the white space. Then I downloaded the "Waltograph" (Disney) font, and printed out some phrases to also glue on the bag such as:

Hiya DD7!

Welcome to DisneyWorld! Uuuum, you know this is my house, right... Mickey Mouse

I'm so glad you're here!

This is going to be the best vacation ever!

I think the girls are going to get a big kick out of it.

Yeah, I'm not going to gift wrap anything in our "Gifts from Mickey" bags either. I'm going to stuff in some tissue paper around things, but that's it. Basically, I don't want to sit in the room opening presents. I want to get to the parks!!!

Has anyone ordered pins from mousepinsonline? How is the quality? Are they good enough for trading?

Mouse Skywalker,
I noticed you were looking for things to put in your wife's gift basket did you think of a fanny pack or one of those cute disney handbags or totes (Walmart). Disney Dollars are always a good idea. A Scrapbook or Picture Album for you to fill when you get back. A T-Shirt with her favorite character she can wear in the park. Even a bottle or wine, champagne or grape juice with a couple of glasses (enough for the whole family) to toast your vacation.

Anditoo: Thanks for the suggestions! Those are great! We already have our fanny packs and totes, but I really like the other ideas. I definitely wouldn't have thought of a photo album or bottle of wine and glasses. I can get some wine for us and some grape juice for the girls. Great idea!

last year on our disney cruise our travel agent sent us a gift basket through the cruise ship.
it was a disney beach bag filled with beach items.
They were:
a minnie and mickey water bottle
paddle ball set
assorted snacks
assorted drinks
frisbee

We still use the beach bag!
