Hi, Fellow DISers-
I know that a lot of us may have read about what to put in a "Welcome from (insert favorite Disney character here)" gift basket to surprise the family.
Usually the contents include autograph books w/ fat pens, pressed penny books, Guest of Honor badges, etc...
What about some more unusual ideas? Something REALLY UnIqUe!
Here's what I'm thinking of doing:
Individually gift wrap (with Disney paper, of course!) each one of the enclosed gifts...
Embroidered Mickey Ears
Autograph Books w/ Fat Pens
A Disney Charm Bracelet for DD
A Disney Watch for DS
Personalized Disney Shirts (one for DH that says: "It's my Birthday!" and mine, DD and DS's to say: "But it's my Un-Birthday!)
Mickey Snacks/ Chocolates
Embroidered Baseball Caps
Guest of Honor Badges
A Pal Mickey
Mickey Earrings for DD
Miscellaneous other Disney Items
I thought that I would buy a large hat box at a craft store and decoupage it with Disney postcards, since I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for on the internet. I want to do this, instead of a "gift basket" per se, because I'll be shipping it to the resort in an outer box and I don't think that a traditional gift basket would ship well.
Then I thought that I would order a large balloon bouquet from the Disney Florists to attach to the hat box, once we arrive.
I thought that I would sneak up to the room, while DH distracts the kids, and assemble the hat box (with a HUGE red french wire ribbon bow), balloons and cards.
I wanted to include two oversized cards to lean against the gift box-
One card would be from Mickey and say something like: "I'm so excited to have you here! I know that this is going to be the best vacation EVER, now that my most special guests have arrived! Please meet me tomorrow at X O'Clock at the X Location, so that I can give you a huge hug! I'll be waiting for you!"
The other card would be for DH and say something like: "So, your DW finally got you to the Mouse House! Well... I must say that we've got some exciting plans in the works for your birthday! It's a surprise that you'll love, you just wait and see, Big Boy!"
What are your ideas? I'd love to hear them!!!!!!!
Sheila
