Arrival flight, which would you do?

So, I can’t add a dvc night (parents are saving points for subsequent trip); how does it work if I were to book a night in AoA or pop century? Does Disney transfer the luggage for us? I wouldn’t want to head out early the next day only to have to schlep everything via Disney transportation over to another hotel after we arrive back....

Yes, from what I have read Disney makes it very easy for you to transfer resorts.

You can wait for Bell Services to get your luggage/food from your room or you can bring it to them when you are ready to leave.
I have also read it is preferable to have a park that day and do above before you head out. This way, by the time you get back from the park,
your luggage/belongings will be at the new place.

In 9 years, this is our first split stay, which is intentional. We will be at BLT for five nights and then heading to SSR for three nights to
go to DTD in the evenings. When we leave BLT in the morning, I plan on giving us enough time to bring our stuff to Bell Services and
then getting on a bus to head to HS. When we return in the afternoon, we will head over to SSR.

Good luck and let us know what you decide. Like you, I'm willing to pay for convenience. If your parents own DVC, you (they) can call and see if you can get a cash room discounted with DVC
for the same resort/category where you are currently staying and if they have availability, you can just start your vacation without moving.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Thanks for all the info! I’ll have to look at the cash point rules, I know they are stringent on which bookings you can use them for (I had asked about it once before) but if that’s an option, it would probably be around the same price as the hotel in the airport! I forgot about that option. But glad to know they will help transfer luggage if we do a value!

Thank you for all the feedback. My kids don’t nap, and we will be traveling in summer (but booking airfare soon). Hopefully no thunderstorms cancelling flights but not worried about snow!
Flights get cancelled due to hurricanes, tornados, snowstorms. Not thunderstorms.

My kids don’t nap

Don't underestimate the power of Disney! Between the travel, early mornings, walking all day, over stimulation of the parks... I could fall asleep standing up as a 32 year old adult. We take my 7 year old niece and 5 year old nephew who haven't napped for a while, and they both nap with ease at Disney. That lets us have a longer day with less attitude. LOL!

I meant arrival day, naps wouldn’t interfere. We wouldn’t have to work around a set nap time.
