Hi! We are staying at BLT, so we will be on the monorail. After we check in I thought we could monorail over to GF for a nice dinner ressie would be for 5pm then hit MK for Parade at 9pm and maybe the dance party....or just head to the MK, eat at Tonys, ressie would be for 7pm and hope to be done in time for Parade?? :confused3
THanks for your help. My husband just shrugs his shoulders. popcorn::
(We have enough park entries to go on arrival day...so that is not an issue)

Well, I have never been to GF but I have been to Tony's and my family HATED IT! It's is worse than fast food Italian -- I wouldn't waste any of my money or dining credits there -- Maybe some other people feel differently but I LOVE Italian Food -- But I think I like authentic Italian and not the random chain/fast food from a can Italian Food -- and I think that's what they serve there!

I too have not dined in the GF cafe, but I must disagree with the PP. We ate at Tony's in 07. I liked it a lot, as did my children. My wife ordered something she didn't like personally, but admitted she would go back, if we ever felt the desire. While we like Italian, we more 'meat & taters' people, so we end up usually doing CP or LTT while we're in MK.

I really don't understand all of the negativity towards Tony's??? We've never had a bad meal there --granted, I am a very bland eater and always order the same thing - spaghetti/meatballs. That being said, I do enjoy the GF Cafe more. The food is always good there, and it's nice and quiet. I think you'll have a good meal either way. It's just a matter of if you'd rather stay in MK for the convenience, or take the monorail ride over to GF.

My vote is for GF Cafe. Although I've haven't been there yet I do want to try it soon. I just don't think Tony's is anything special. I know it gets extremely mixed views on the boards so there's probably a 50/50 chance as to whether you'll like it or not. But if you're asking for opinions, this is mine. We did not enjoy our food at Tony's overall. This is the only restaurant on the "do not return to" list for us. I love the Grand Floridian though as a resort. It wouldn't be that much different to go there first as far as convenience.

I guess untimatly I would look at the menus and decide from there. Good luck!

Hi MerriH807,
I like both restaurants so it is a tough choice. I would say that since Tony's is in the park you will get the trip started with the "we're at Disney feel" :wizard: If you are looking for more relaxed on the first day I would say go for GF cafe. I enjoy both and I think it comes down to if you want more relaxed or the right there in the park feeling. I think both have good food. Whatever you choose you can't go wrong because you will be at Disney. :woohoo: Have a great trip. :thumbsup2
