We are arriving this Saturday the 20th with our 4 year old grand daughter. Our plane gets into Orlando at 9:45am and then depending on wait for Magical Express we hope to be able to get to a park later that morning. Reading Easy WDW and Touring Plans it seems like AK is the best choice, MK the worst. The sites seem to disagree on Epcot and HS not a great choice because of EMH. Would Ak seem to be the best bet. We would go for a few hours and then get back to relax a little, we have reservations for the 6:45 pm character dinner at Epcot that evening. Thanks for any advice.

Epcot will more than likely be crowded on the weekend with locals attending the Food and Wine Festival. You are better off at AK or HS. If it's a super hot day I'd avoid AK (this park doesn't seem to get any breeze).

You might want to consider just going to Epcot, since you'll have to be there for dinner anyway. You're going to miss rope drop no matter what, so you might not want to bother with the hassle and time of an extra hop. The 4-year-old might get wiped out.

I arrive on the same day, except my plane lands around 8:30am:). Our plan for that day is to head to AK for a few hours and leave once we have watched the afternoon parade. I think if you head straight to Epcot on a Saturday around lunch time, most of the wait times for the rides are going to be a bit long (especcially with F&W). But it all depends on what your plans on other days are. AK is always our choice for arrival day.

Our personal preference is NOT to go to Animal Kingdom on our arrival day. Because it closes a bit earlier than the other parks, we feel that we don't get to do enough. On the other hand, some people like a shorter day on their first day so they can get back and relax after traveling, so it is a judgment call. :)

Hi
We went to Epcot during the F&W festival and I said never again on the weekend. Epcot was wall to wall people. I think I would just go to AK for a little while, even though you won't have a full park day, or go to DTD and have lunch and relax. Or you could just relax and explore the resort. If it's nice for swimming, you could do that. Your little one might be tired from getting up early and you might want to save some energy for your dinner at Epcot. Have a great trip!!
