Arrival Day Strategy

Our flight arrives at MCO at 10:30 AM on Sat, Sept 9th, staying at BCV

We had planned DHS Sat afternoon, staying though to see Fantasmic, hoping for Star Wars fireworks. We have park hoppers.

Where do you recommend lunch ? I do not want to be tied to an ADR time, so it would be counter service.

I have never cared for any of the counter services choices at DHS. Are there any newer offerings at DHS, BW or BCV ? Ideally I'd like to eat by the water either around the lagoon at BCV/BW or the Lagoon at EPCOT ?

I was thinking of going into EPCOT, have lunch at France, or a country close to the International Gateway than take the boat to DHS. How doable is that, given that weekends at EPCOT are always discouraged during Food and Wine ? Does the boat at the International Gateway, go to DHS or would we have to transfer boats at one of the resorts ?

Spice Road at EPCOT comes to mind as an option that would put you right down on the water, with a short walk back to International Gateway to catch the boat. They do take ADR's but I've always had good luck walking up, or making an ADR shortly before I want to eat. From what I've heard most of the F&W crowd is hitting the booths and the regular eateries aren't necessarily extra busy.

Never tried Spice Road. Sounds intriguing. The menu looks fab, Hummus and Grape Leaves plus one of their specialty cocktails sounds great. Do you know if you can dine al fresco at Spice Road ? Website doesn't really speak to it.

There is covered outdoor patio style seating on left side of the entry and I believe indoor seating on the right, but I've only ever eaten outside in the patio area. I think the tables closest to the water go to ADR's, but even sitting in the middle is lovely. The Olive and Humus plate is my fav, oh, and the mint iced tea... I can drink gallons of it.
