What is your favorite arrival day place to have dinner? I have a 7y/o girl so we would like it to be fun.
any suggestions?
TIA

I have two DD's and we have tried Rainforest Cafe at AK when we arrive, and also Planet Hollywood in DTD. :)

If she likes any of the princess' you could do Cinderella's Gala Feast @ The Grand Floridian or if you will be arriving after April 10,05 you could do the Princess Story Book Dinner (Cinderella is not at this one) @ Epcot in Norway...We have a 4 year old and we are doing both of those !!!

I have been to the Rainforest Cafe twice in Nashville while the atmosphere is wonderful and fun the food is nothing to write home about ...Maybe it is different at Disney or at least I hope so. I have also been to the Planet Hollywood in Myrtle Beach and same goes for it..Not impressed with the food at all.

We like Rainforest Cafe in DTD for our arrival night dinner. I wanted to try something different one year, but my guys wouldn't hear of it.

Thanks for the help. We are arriving at 1:00pm we will have casey's for lunch at MK. How late can you make PS? I was just wondering if anyone knew. Everyone here is so knowledgable. I am in aw of how much I don't know
TIA

We are a Chef Mickey's family on the arrival day since we do not arrive until later in that day (flight arrives at 2:45ish). We don't have APs and don't want to "waste" a park day on our tickets. So we usually hang at the resort, nap, swim and head to Chef Mickey's for dinner!

Another reccommendation for Chef Mickeys for Day #1. It's become a tradition of ours. That way our DS is always going to meet Mickey on the first day of the trip.

It was our tradition to go to DTD, but I'm taking the advice of fellow DISers this time and made dinner PS at Chef Mickey's! I can't wait:-)

In the Contemporary Hotel which is good because you won't need park admission.

you didn't mention if you were doing a park that day or not.

if so, I would recommend the Crystal Palace. in MK if that is where you are going

To make PS you need to call Disney Dining at 407-939-3463 (wdw-dine) You can not call any earlier then 90 days out unless its for the dinner theatre places which are a year out.

My favorite place to eat is Ohanas. They have coconut races and Hulla hoop contest and if you time it right can see wishes.

We did Whispering Canyon and it was a blast - food was great too! :cool1:

We've gone to O'Hana too for our first night on almost every trip. It's fun to get the "umbrella drinks", the kids get to do the races, and then watch the MK fireworks.

We always try to eat at the Hotel if possible the day we check in. We dont go to the parks the first day, we explore the hotel, pool etc and make PS at the restaurant in the hotel. This way we get a chance to relax after the flight and we use the pool etc.DD rents a "Sprite", we brouse in the hotel shops, use the game rooms etc. We go to bed early and wake up refreshed and ready for our first day in the parks. This is just what we prefer to do but I think most people do go to the parks. We have done this when we stayed at the Poly (O'Hana's) POR (Baotwrights) and when we stayed at the Dolphin we ate at one of the restaurants there but I can't remember the name.

If you are going to be in the MK then LTT is a great character meal with excellent service.

If you're not in a park, BOMA and the AKL + savannahs will certainly get you into Disney mode.

So many suggestions, so little Disney time... :earsboy:

Another vote for Chef Mickey's on your 1st night. It has become our tradition and my sister's kids always ask when are we going to Chef Mickeys when we arrive. I have four years of pictures on my refrigerator and it is really cute to see how much they have grown since that first trip. Have fun whatever you decide.
