Arrival day, dinner in MK? The Plaza or Skipper Canteen?

Jungle Cruise Navigation CO. Ltd. Skipper Canteen I believe is the full name of it lol.
It was getting terrible reviews until about May/June.
My sister and I knew we absolutely had to try it for the simple fact that we love Jungle Cruise.
We were not disappointed!
We loved the Jungle Cruise skipper punniness of it all.
My sister got the steak and I got a beefy pasta bake.
The food was very good. The menu is exotic enough to peak interest and normal enough to realistically eat.
We will definitely be returning in the future.

The Plaza is meh in my opinion.

Has Plaza gone back to ADRs? There was test policy did not allow dinner ADRs only walk up if that helps you choose.

That said I would still go to Skipper Canteen, something new and different than burgers and sandwiches.

I have been attempting to choose the Plaza Restaurant for 5 months. Now that I am within 30 days of arrival, I called MS's dining reservations to ask if the restaurant is even open since no time selections ever come up on the internet search. They said that the Plaza is now walk-up for dinner with no reservations. I complained that I had spent lots of time searching for an ADR since the website still shows it as so. Oh well. I have not seen any official notices that they no longer accept dinner reservations.

everyone has different opinions so keep this in mind. We had lunch at the skipper canteen first week of october we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service but we ordered the pork dish and I legit spit it out in my napkin it was so fatty it was just down right terrible. We had the pot stickers those were just ok. Again everyone's mileage may vary we are not picky eaters but we will not be revisiting the skipper canteen anytime soon. I would go with plaza

Trend seems to be that the people who liked Skipper Canteen, and the people who didn't like it, ordered different items.

Yes I would have to dig for it. They accept them for something like opening to 12:30 pm and that is it. I guess just to fill restaurant at opening. Then after that walk up. I thought by some posts that had stopped (which it should). DUMB if you ask me because now I will never even stop by. The restaurant is simply way too small for me to waste my time waiting among many for a table to open up. NOW maybe the point is to push Skippers and now that Liberty Tree is getting new menu and rumbling is it will go to the dinner menu all day at some point - this just means I will not book TS in MK. I'll book lunch at BOG but other than that I'm not paying those prices. QS or a nice sandwich in my bag followed by resort dinner is fine with me. Or SNACK my day away.
