arrival day adr needed

Your fastest option will be the Market at Ale & Compass. For a TS, you are better off checking MDE once you get to YC to see what is available. Also, I believe Big River Grille on the Boardwalk is on OpenTable and walkups, so you could just head over there and put your name on the waiting list. That late in the day and with so many variables that can cause delays, I wouldn't make an ADR until I was already on property. If you stay at the EC resort area (or go to EPCOT) and figure everything goes smoothly, you should be able to get to a restaurant at about 8:30. Tack on an 45-60 minutes if you plan to go anywhere else.

For what it's worth, we have a similar situation arriving just a bit earlier but at the Swan before we check into the GF for the week. We do NOT have park tickets for that day. We've considered the following:

Big River Grille-Seems to be the most casual, has decent food/beer, and the outside tables are supposed to have a great view of the board walk

Beaches and Cream- Dependent on getting an ADR 60 days out (probably unlikely given we won't have the +10 option)

Ale and Compass/Lounge- While the full service variety requires an ADR, think the lounge might be a bit more open

Il Mulano-Probably the best food, but we're just not sure if we want something this fancy on arrival day

Personally I would set up a reservation through Open Table for Big River Grille at the Boardwalk. That way if you are late/ delayed you aren’t charged a no show fee.

I wouldn't play into the Disney ADR games on arrival night. Too many variables on possible delays.

Knowing what I know, I'd be looking at the Swan/Dolphin places, but that's me. I'd probably be thinking Kimonos for sushi.

You can also just check for reservations in the area when you are securely on the bus, and have a decent idea of what time you'll be in the area. You might be surprised at what is available.

I agree with the others, don't make a Disney ADR for that night as you may end up with a no-show fee if any part of your travel is delayed. Either make a non-Disney reservation or find a QS in the area.

We'll have similar time situation, but staying at OKW this month. My plan is immediate bathing suits and cover ups, head to Gurgling Suitcase or Goods Foods to Go, eat a light late dinner outside, swim, and enjoy drinks and sunset! There's Hurricane Hannah's over there at YC. But no grill items at this time (according to D.website). Martha's Vineyard close by at BC.
We just enjoy being ressie-free the first night and very casual.....ease into the Vaca with a margarita in hand. :cool2:

ya, il mulino is tough because it's just a bit 'heavy' that later in the day with no idea of time we will arrive on property. do you know if ale/compass lounge is open?
i can't get an adr for beaches and cream or cape may cafe, booked solid.

We arrived at MCO last week at 4:30 and didn't have an ADR. We went to Disney Springs after dropping our luggage at AOA and were able to walk in to Paddlefish at around 8:00. Couldn't believe we could walk in when all ADRs had been booked. So there's a possibility you can get a walk in at Disney Springs if your timing is right. Enjoy your trip!!

Did you download the Swan & Dolphin app? There are a bunch of restaurants over there, and it's within walking distance of YC. The app has updated hours.
