I am new to the boards and would like to thank everyone for all the great info. I can't believe how much I have learned! We will take our second cruise 4/17 eastern. Took the 4 day in 4/01.

After reading the boards and speaking to DCL a number of times I am still confused on the following:
What time can my DH drop me and the kids in front of the terminal? When are the baggage handlers there? What documents does DH need to get in the terminal after returning the rental car? I would like to check in even if he is not back.
DCL has given me many different times for arrival and baggage handlers and also told me that DH would need his cruise documents and his photo ID. After reading the boards, a number of you only needed the photo ID to get back in and then DH or DW would go to the check in counter to show ID and get KTTW card. Each CM tells you something different at DCL.

Second, the REAS sounds like a great way to avoid the on board rush that I so dread and I must admit stress over! I would like the Spa Taster but DH would prefer not to do either spa taster or body massage. Is there anyway that I could have both spa treatments but at different times of the cruise? Also is Debbie, who sounds wonderful, still doing additional ressies like brunch and tea and allowing people to pick their rotation? DCL told me it was only Palo dinner and that you can request a rotation. I need to know rotation to pick Palo night.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, if DH does not want to do a spa treatment, you can arrange to have 2 yourself instead.

And I believe from input on another REAS thread that Debbie is still doing all the complimentary things she has done all along...brunch, tea and rotation! :)

Enjoy the cruise!!

I would also like to hear more about the arrival at the port from some DCL vetrans.

I was wondering what time do people start arriving at the port?

What time do they Open up and begin checking in people?

Also once you are checked in do you proceed (sp) to the line and wait to board, or does that line form later in the morning.

Thanks so much,

Amtmommy, my DW and I have been on 2 cruises so far. We have arrived at the port just before 10 am each time. They allow you to drop off at 10 or 10:30 am, I think it's more like 10. The line to get into the drop off area seems to form around 9:45 am. Those are the serious eager beavers!!!! It's not too long after you get there that they start checking people in. I want to say they start at 10:30 am. Yes, once you check in you CAN get in line. However it's not necessary. If you want to be one of the first in line, then go ahead. Being first definitely does not mean being first on the ship. There are places away from the line to sit and the kids can watch some Disney cartoons that play on about 4 or 6 monitors. Be warned though that there are no comfortable places to sit while in line. It's the floor and it hurts after a little bit. However, my DW and I still prefer to get there as soon as we possibly can. We're too excited!!!!
