.....it's more about the parents:mad: GS has a fall money-earner called QSP (magazines, nuts, and candies) . when I gave all the parents the info packets I pointed out the date I needed the orders back- 10/26-and explained to the parents that this was because I was leaving for the weekend Thursday afternoon, and was bringing the troop order form to the co-ordinator Tuesday night on my way to my p/t job . So, of course after phone reminders over the weekend, what does one parent do-she sticks her daughter's order form in my newspaper box sometime Wednesday night-never even knocked on the door or called to say she was doing this:rolleyes: Why do some people think a due date is for everyone but them:rolleyes:

Sorry {{{{HUGS}}}} I have had it happen many times. You know it is the girl you feel bad for. Some parents just don't have respect for their kids. I would never do that to my dds.
Sometimes it turns out for the best because that would be the same parent LATE with the money.

I have a Fall Fundraiser coming up with new mommies (1st year Brownies)...
I wonder what is going to happen. They seem like a normal bunch.

What bothered me the most was the scoutmaster in Boy Scouts. I was the popcorn chairperson. I would give a due date so I could tabulate and have the order in. Then the scoutmaster would tell kids it was ok to turn them in late, I could call in the order.

Just do your best, that is all anyone can do.

I guess that you can chalk this up as a lesson learned. I always give a due date that is 2 to 3 days prior to the actual last day for me to have permission slips, money or orders. That gives all the procrastinators time to call me on the day after I stipulated and beg me to take their stuff.

This works well for me, too - but we still usually have one or two stragglers.

Kteacher - I think your mistake was letting the parents know you were leaving Thursday afternoon - so they thought in their little pea-brained minds that you still had time to find and complete the order on Wed.

Sorry that you are feeling frustrated, Kteacher. I think it is a great thing you are doing working with the girl scouts.
