Around WDW in 14 days - a pre-trip report

It all started so well!

After an hour or so of tantrums, mood swings and several rounds of "I can't do this!", I did actually manage to sew on the purple ribbon to the t-shirt.

Then I found it no longer fit over my head. Not only do I have no talent for sewing, I am apparently somewhat lacking in the common sense department as well :furious::sad::rolleyes::rotfl:

So, I am back at square one, still trying to figure out how to attach this piece of ribbon in a sensible way. And this isn't even the tricky bit

In other news - you might remember that I am on a long road to technophobia recovery, and as well as mastering trip reports, hyperlinks and photo uploads, I promised myself I would start the blog that I've been talking about forever and a day. This weekend I finally did it  Now I have another outlet for my Disney trip planning obsession!

(I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to it, if you want to check it out any time let me know and I'll PM you the details)

Meanwhile, I might make an earlier start that planned on the head piece for my costume, just in case of any more hiccups! :rolleyes1

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

One more item checked off the list. . .I have just pre-ordered our Photopass.

I wasn't 100% sure we were going to do this, in the past we have always just purchased the CD in the park (even though I always found it stressful being forced to choose borders to our free prints right there at the counter :rotfl:)

The more I thought about it though the more I realised there is really no reason not to pre-order, and $50 worth of reason to do it!

I intend to make the most of Photopass this time around - we always gather lots of photos but I plan of gathering as many magic shots as I can :wizard:

Oh no at the sewing dilemma! :headache: I can't sew either but am lucky in that my mum can sew anything!

Yay on starting a blog and pre ordering the Photopass CD - we're still not sure if we are ordering it.

I can think of 4 resorts I'd love to stay in: Boardwalk, WL, AKL, and the Poly. I've only been inside AKL and WL, and that was just going there to dine. I'll be going to 'Ohana for the 1st time next month so I'm really excited about seeing the Poly! I have a feeling I will fall in love with it!

Sorry to hear the costume isn't coming along... I can't sew worth a lick, either. I wouldn't even know where to begin, LOL!

:banana::banana::banana:

I can't believe how quickly it's going now.

So another Top 5 Fridays has been missed (those late shifts really play havoc with my Dis time!). I'm starting to lose track of which ones I've already done :rotfl: will check through and do one later today!

It feels really strange right now as there's really nothing left to plan for this trip (I know, I know, what is life without WDW trip planning?!) Clothes are bought (and practically packed!), Photopass ordered, ADRs booked. DH has even checked which movies are playing on the flight over

With the exception of figuring out how to fit the last few pieces of my costume, there's really not much else to do except post a few random pictures of previous adventure. . .

:woohoo: on it being 7 weeks!! Can't believe you are all prepared - feel like I still have so much to do.

Great pics from your past adventures - looking forward to seeing some new ones soon :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your sewing dilemma. I myself cannot sew at all, my DH is better at it than I am! I always went with the hot glue gun approach myself :)

What lovely pictures, how cool that you caught a rainbow!:goodvibes

Wow, you are really on top of things!:thumbsup2 We hit the 50 day mark today and I still have a LOT left to do!!
That's great that you got the photopass CD ordered:woohoo: That's on my list of things still left to do;) We got it last time and were so glad, so we're definately doing it again this time. It saved us a lot.
I am still unsure about costumes. Dh and I will definitely only be wearing a themed t-shirt, but as for the kids I still don't know. Oldest Ds had a shirt, pants, hat, etc that he wears around here when playing Indiana Jones, so that will likely be what we bring for him. As for the other two, it's still up in the air:rolleyes1 I think youngest mentioned wanted to be a cowboy!

Glue gun . . . I like this idea. . .

As much as I like being organised, at the same time I keep thinking I must have missed something huge. . .Let's hope I don't end up at the airport with a passport :rolleyes1

We fly out on a Saturday - I am off work the day before, DH is not. I can sense it will be a very long, very stressful day :rotfl:

Let's have a Top 5 Tuesday to make up for Friday. . .

Top 5 Disney songs. Go!

5. Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride - not sure if that's the right name but it's the song from Lilo & Stitch. Double points for reminding me of the dancing during breakfast at Ohana's. It always makes me :) when it comes on my Ipod.

4. Life is a Highway - three words. Wolfs. Dance. Orlando. If you haven't seen this go to Youtube and watch it. Then watch it again.

3. Part of Your World - breaking out the classics now. Love this song. It's only downside is my delusions of grandeur attempting to sing it. Jodi Benson I am not.

2. Circle of Life - who doesn't want to shed a tear when they hear this?

1. Beauty and the Beast - yip, the Celine Dion version. I'm nothing if not predictable!

I have been known to kill sewing machines in the past, my roommate won't let me touch hers. I always go the hot glue gun way myself.

As for songs, I have a love of Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon.

Glue gun . . . I like this idea. . .

Oh yes, one year I decided I wanted to be Mother Nature for Halloween, and literally glued hundreds of fake ivy leaves (the kind from silk flowers ) onto an old formal dress I had. It held up very well, I have to say (though everyone thought I was Poison Ivy, not Mother Nature.... go figure....:lmao:)

I can't believe how fast it's going now. . .yet still not fast enough!

We're close enough that DH is now checking the weather reports and providing daily updates on the temperature in Florida (we're from Scotland - hot weather is very exciting to him :lmao:)

In another couple of weeks our airline tickets should be arriving  I still feel like there's a lot to do - most of the trip planning is done, nothing left to do even if I wanted to :rotfl: I just have the rest of my costume to complete for MNSSHP and a few last minute essentials to pick out.

I plan on sitting down at the weekend and looking through everything thoroughly, checking through packing lists just to make sure there isn't something huge and glaringly obvious that I've forgotten - better I know now rather than on my way to the airport!

Since Tuesday is fast becoming my regular Dis Day, let's have a Top 5 today. What are your Top 5 must-pack items? I'm still thinking about mine. . .

Your trip will be here before you know it!

For me, the 5 things I *must* pack would be:

- migraine medication (I have this with me at all times)

- hoody (even in the summer, you never know when you might need a jacket)

- pillow (I sleep with 2, and hotel pillows are usually so thin!)

- phone (I think that one is self-explanatory!)

And... I'll have to think of a 5th!

I can't believe how fast time is going either!

My top 5 must pack items are

- Hair Straighteners

- Hair dryer

- Makeup

- Clothes/shoes

- Medicines

There are many more but they rank lower down on the list! I sure have my priorities sorted, don't I? ;)

My Top 5 Items to Pack:

1. My Husband:goodvibes
2. Nook
3. Some sort of music.
4. Sunglasses
5. a Hat. (for some reason, I almost ALWAYS forget this, and regret it later!)

I totally agree on the hoody! We experienced crazy changes in weather on our last trip - one night I felt like I was drowning because of the humidity, the next I was shopping for a hoody because it was so cold!

I think this time I'll carry one with me and just keep it in the lockers until night time, just in case.

A hat! I really must not forget one this time! I had grand ideas last time that I could get by without one. Lasted one day.
