Around WDW in 14 days - a pre-trip report

Good luck on getting your HHN tickets!

My Top 5 for AK would be:

5. ITTBAB
4. Finding Nemo - the Musical
3. Kilimanjaro Safaris
2. FotLK
1. EE

And my worst attraction at AK would be Dinosaur... I can't believe that's your
#1, LOL! But, to each their own, right? That's the best thing about WDW, there's something for everyone! :thumbsup2

I totally agree :thumbsup2 That's what makes WDW so great! Out of curiosity, what don't you like about it? The reason I ask is I've heard some people say it's too jerky, rough, loud and generally intense, and I've heard others say it's too tame!

Yes, yes, yes, and yes ;)

It is probably the roughest ride I have been on - I couldn't believe it the first time we went on this, I was expecting a cute little dark ride and some friendly dinosaurs (I should really break this habit of wandering cluelessly into things - I did the same things at Crush's Coaster in Disneyland Paris - sooooo not as tame as it looks from the outside!)

It's funny how things affect people differently, after the initial shock on Dinosaur I couldn't wait to go back on, but after ITTBAB I almost burst into tears I was so scared :lmao:

Sorry for being a super geek but after all this talk of Dinosaur I just had to go and watch a video of it on You Tube. . . So excited now, 64 days to go!!!

Think I might have forgotten to add an update on the invoice situation. . .

It took two more emails and another phonecall but we finally got our updated invoice :dance3: It now shows that the balance is paid and that we added QSDP to our booking. I feel so much better having this, I was dreading arriving and finding that not only was there no record of it but we had no documentation to back it up.

Now I can officially start dreaming about what to do with all those snack credits. . .:rolleyes1

I'm looking forward to going on Dinosaur for the first time, as well as festival of the Lion King. I love the Safari and Kali River Rapids, though...can't wait to go on those again.
I'll soon have to update my PTR, there have been even more changes!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

8 weeks till I see the Mouse again! The weeks are starting to fly in now!

I missed another Top 5 Friday on account of having a mini birthday party for my best friend last night, so here is the belated Top 5 Resorts I'd Like To Stay In:

5. Treehouse Villas - we passed these so many times on the boat trip between POR and DTD and they look fun (either than or the boat Captains just have a really effective sales pitch ;))

4. Saratoga Springs - another effect of the boat trip - every time we passed by I thought this resort looked so pretty. Staying that close to DTD would be a major plus :thumbsup2

3. Boardwalk Resort - this is strange because I do not have good memories of this resort - nothing to do with the resort itself, we went there to have a look around and eat at the ESPN Club and ended up having to leave early because I was sick. I can now say with certainty that taking a bus from the Boarwalk to MK then another bus to POR is not a pleasant experience when feeling sick  I saw enough to see that it was beautiful and it's a fun idea!

2. Wildnerness Lodge - I would like to stay here at Christmas. I love the theming at this resort, plus I'm a fan of the Whispering Canyon Cafe :rotfl:

1. Polynesian - it's just a classic in my opinion.

We plan on visiting more resorts on this trip so it will be interesting to see how this changes after we've seen a few more. Until our last trip I had my heart set on the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but after visiting it on our last trip I just didn't love it as much as I thought I would. Of course Riverside will always be my first love :cloud9:

Just a few treats I'm looking forward to enjoying at WDW, photos courtesy of the web. . .

Karamell Kuche is on my list of places to hit:thumbsup2
Time really is flying by, I can't believe we are less than two months away now:cool1:
I'm not sure where else I'd like to stay as I haven't really checked out other resorts. This will be our first time at POR, so I'm hoping to love it as much as you do:)

Under 8 weeks to go now, and it has now occured to me that I have not yet completed my Toy Story Alien costume. 8 weeks may seem like a long time, but that's a very short period of time given the many, many disasters that may yet befall my costume making adventure.

(Don't even get me started on DH costume - he is entertaining a vague notion of going as Indiana Jones but has not yet given any thought to his outfit - the super-planner part of me is freaking out!)

So, today I am going to attempt to complete the t-shirt part of my costume. There's not too much to do, I just need to stitch on some purple ribbon around the collar of my t-shirt. However, given that I have never sewn anything in my life (I know, I can put together a Disney planning binder but I lack basic life skills) there's really no telling how this will turn out!

I'll post a picture as soon as I'm done!

Hi! Am catching up on your PTR! I love your must do list esp picking a pearl and the bike/boat hire.

I love the D&B bag - I want to try and buy one this trip but we shall see if it happens :rolleyes1

Am looking forward to riding Dinosaur though the thought terrifies me!! :rotfl: It's a good job It's Tough to be a Bug is closed if you don't like it.

Yay on getting the invoice sorted and have to agree in that Karamelle Kuche is the place to be! :cloud9:

I agree in that I would love to stay at Poly one day. Am thinking I will fall in love with AKL but we shall see if that happens on our visit.

Good luck with the t-shirt - look forward to seeing a pic of the finished result :goodvibes

My ds is thinking about going to MNSSHP as Indiana Jones. The kids recently watched the movies and now he and his brother play Indiana Jones a lot. He's got an authentic Indiana Jones hat that dh got on his very first trip to WDW. As for the rest of us, I haven't even started thinking of costumes just yet:rolleyes1

I think you will fall in love with AKL - I'm convinced a lot of our love of POR comes from the fact that it was the first (and only!) WDW resort we stayed in, and it was everything we hoped it would be and more.

Dinosaur is pretty scary. It's really just that it's so loud! But is it so much fun, I hope you end up loving it as much as I do!

I think DH is just planning on picking up some light coloured trousers and a khaki shirt before going then raiding the merchandise at Hollywood Studios for the rest of the outfit :rotfl: Wish mine was as simple as that!

Are you thinking about doing full blown costumes or sticking with themed t-shirts/outfits?
