Hey Lisa! I couldn't think of a better name! Kate's "McMansion" was in my head so that's what I went with! DS3 got 8 stitches this morning so that's my excuse for my brain not working today!

I'm ignoring my kids request to make crafts and candy for relatives--b/c they don't want to clean up the area that needs to be used. I'm sure that is mean. But they haven't lifted a finger all weekend and were told that when the house was clean, we would do these crafts. Maybe one day they will get it.

I can't believe it's the holidays again! The years are going faster and faster.

I don't know if any of you are mother-in-laws, (I actually like mine), but issues and tensions are horrible during the holidays.

I don't think it had anything to do with the holidays LOL. And I am a mother-in-law, but I really love my daighter-in law-and son-in-law. Issues such as who goes where and when were solved before the weddings (my son and his wife come home every Thanksgiving from Ireland, and her family gets them for all the other holidays. This year a baby is due in December, so we'll go over there in January, and if changes needed to be made (we traded Thur for Fri this year for my daughters family, because my daughters in-laws have a new baby, and she is taking the first Thanksgiving Day pics..when they come here on Friday, they will have my son in laws mom with them, whom I also love), it was no big deal.
I'm always surprised when I read threads about people having so much trouble with the in-laws. How sad that must be.

DS3 ran into the wall this morning hence the 8 stitches in the forehead. What a freaking morning! You know it's bad when you hear that sound at 6 am of a head hitting a wall.....ugh!

I'm the same way with my kiddos! They lost slushes and candy canes this weekend (special treats) because they didn't follow the rules. the joys of being a mommy!

LOL. Pretty funny, eh? We've been together for so long, we figured we had other stuff to talk about.

Just wondering, can we talk about them without the drama..for instance to say, the last show is Monday, but not make comments about the family? Then those that want to , can hop over to the thread and let people know if there is something they didn't like?

Can you believe Thanksgiving is this week?! I feel like 2009 has just FLOWN by...now I get to go to the grocery store with thousands of other people and get my holiday fixings - wish me luck!

I have missed you all!

We are going to my sister's house for Thanksgiving. My parents, brother and other sister and their families are all going to be there. DH's mother and sister are coming in town and will join us as well. Speaking of MIL, I absolutely adore mine. She is a mother to me and has been for years. Our family has so much to be thankful for.

DWGal--ITA. I turn 40 in December and it seems the older I get the faster the year goes by.

Hey ladies! What a wonderful idea newtodis!

As far as Thanksgiving goes, we're traveling to my dad and stepmoms house. My 2 brothers and sister-in-law will be there as well. We can't wait to go. I'm still in denial that it's even almost Thanksgiving. Tonight I went to Target to use up a coupon and did a little Christmas shopping as well. I'm one of those people who love everything about Christmas and start listening to the music before Thanksgiving! Crazy, right? It always seems to go so quickly so I try to make it last as long as possible. What's wrong with that?

Me too!

I even already have the decorations up....that's crazy! I never put them up this early, at least not inside. We do outside if the weather is nice and then turn them on Thanksgiving weekend. I did inside though because with family coming, I just want to relax over Thanksgiving and not decorate.

So today my feet are aching as I spent all weekend cleaning house and decorating for Christmas.
