We had breakfast at Ariel's grotto yesterday. I know there have been many ?? about the price. $27 adult, $14 kids.

It was just OK. We did see Cinderella, Snow White, Princess Aurora, Belle, and Ariel. For the money, the breakfast itself was not worth it. When you sat down, you were given a 3 tiered platter (salad size plates) of 2 croissants, 2 danish, 2 mini-bagels, and 2 slices sweet breads on the bottom tray, cheddar, sage derby, salami, and gouda on the middle tray, and some fresh fruit on the top tray.

During that course, the princesses were announced and began to make their rounds of the restaurant.

You were then brought a platter of eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes.

Then you were brought the bill.

It just didn't seem to be the caliber of the other character dining experiences. We were a little spoiled by Goofy's Kitchen the night before. Because we really enjoyed that meal.

We were also a little disappointed because I haven't been to DCA before and my inlaws came with. MIL has pulmonary problems and can't walk long distances. The CM guided us all the way around the perimeter of the park, past Soarin, GC hotel, GRR, California Dreamin, and then over the bridge. We asked for a wheelchair to help and they told us that we couldn't get one because the park wasn't open yet. :sad1:

hmmmm I wonder if you can ask for more food if what you get isn't enough. How many people were with you? We have a party of 4 going for DD7's 8th b-day in December. We won't change our plans because it's her choice for her b-day meal but I'm curious.
Otherwise, it sounds pretty standard to me. We've done lunch there twice and to be honest, we much preferred it over GK.

Thanks for the review. But Im also wondering if you asked for more, would they bring you more. I know at other character meals that are served family style, you just ask for more of what you want and they bring it to you. They way you said they brought the bill made it not seem like that. So if anyone knows that answer, I would appreciate it. We are planning on going and were considering here, but for a family of 5 that much food wouldn't fly.

You know, as a previous eater at Ariel's I do remember asking for more bread rolls when we ran out. I BET you can ask for more and it's brought out. When we get there we won't be shy, we will just ask. LOL

I wouldn't have an issue with the quantity of food, but the limited items. There was no waffles, pancakes, crepes or toast? No yogurt, cottage cheese or oatmeal? I guess they have to limit the available items, but I would be disappointed. Now were the beverages plentiful? I would expect coffee, a couple of juice choices and milk. I agree with the others that have had positive experiences here for lunch and dinner, but I think I would pass on breakfast. Lilo & Stitch has the best overall breakfast experience in our book.:cutie: Thanks for sharing.

Yes, you could ask for additional food, but like Lulubelle posted, the variety was really lacking. We asked for some toast to eat with the eggs and they said all they had was the croissants or bagel from the first course. Pancakes or waffles would also have been very nice. If you don't like scrambled eggs, you would be disappointed.
