I have a question for all of you BCV experts. When we were walking around beach club one evening after eating at Beaches 'n Cream, we went through a door to the lobby, and there was what appeared to be a restaurant called Ariel's. It was closed, but it was about 9:00pm.

Can anyone tell me anthing about this place? Is it a restaurant? If not, what is it and when is it open? I have looked on the WDW website, but cannot find anything?

I didn't know if I should post this on the DVC community board or on the resort board, so I did both. Mods...please just delete it if you don't want it here.

Thanks,

Ariel's used to be a seafood restaurant, but it has been closed for about 4 years now. The space is used for private meetings, and when they have conventions at the resort. I think they ought to use part of it for Beaches and Cream, but nobody asked for my opinion! :wizard:

:wave2: Hi Beca!

Ariels was a beautiful resturant at the Beach Club that sported an aquarium that took up a whole wall. It was a higher priced resturant with delicious food and also offered wine tasting. Our evening there really was an experience to remember.

I got this info from Deb Will's site:
Ariel's - Beach Club - Closed 5/97 - Used for private functions.

:)

That is SOOO sad!!! It seems like that would be an expensive piece of real estate to allow to sit dormant!!!

As much as I would like to eat there with the aquarium and all....God knows Beaches 'n Cream could use that space!!!

We were there in December and it was being used for a wedding. My brother and his wife were with us, and they had said they had eaten there on a previous trip and said it was one of the best meals they had ever had at WDW.

It is used for private parties. I was fortunate enough to attend a wedding there last May. It is a beautiful area and the theming inside is gorgeous. The theme for the wedding was Ariel based and it was perfect!

It is not dormant, Disney uses it for special events, catered events, conventions, weddings, etc.

Obviously it is a good use for them, as they don't seem to have any plans to change it.

It was a very nice restaurant.
