We will be at the Magic Kingdom the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept 28 and all day Friday, Sept 30. Our granddaughter asked to meet Ariel. Do you think we will need a fast pass? We have not stood in line to meet a character since 2006, so have no idea of what wait times are likely to be. Thanks for any advice!

For Ariel I would say no, as long as you're okay with waiting 15-20 minutes.

15-20 minutes is fine. Thank you very much for your quick response

We were there a couple weeks ago, I think it was a crowd level 6-7 day, and did not need a FP. We weren't planning on meeting her, but walked by around 10am (on a 9am park open), and a CM was standing outside telling people there was only a 5 min wait, so we went on in. If you go there in the first hour or so, I would think you could get through with minimal wait.

Our 1st FP is Buzz at 9:30 so going straight to Ariel when we get to the park will work out very well. Thank you!

I don't know if you were planning to do rope drop, but we went straight to Rapunzel/Tiana at RD, not realizing that they do not start letting people see characters until 9. We were near the front of the line, so it worked out, but the rest of our group was able to do 2 separate rides and still wait for us by the time we finished. Not sure if Ariel opens at 9 as well? But with the low wait time we experienced, you may be able to fit a ride in before seeing her at 9, rather than stand around for 15 minutes.

We are planning to do rope drop. Maybe we will do the Ariel ride first. Thank you!

She meets really late too. We accidentally met her in 2014, we thought we were heading into the ride and went into her grotto. It was around midnight (maybe after it was an EMH night) there was one family in front of us. She was one of the best interactions we've ever had, my boys loved her and we have some amazing pictures from that encounter!

Thank you! We took this granddaughter when she was 3 and again when she was 4 - she'll be 14 this trip!

Hi OP! In my experience Ariel's lines never reach an extreme length so 15-20 min is expected and less during a parade, or near opening or closing time. So FP+ is not really needed to meet her. Have fun! princess::tink:

We are here right now and did this shortly after rope drop--I think it was 8:30ish. Waited 2 minutes. :)
