I'm having a bad run of luck with gadgets and gizmos breaking down lately!

First it was my cellphone's cigarette-lighter cord for the car...it just stopped working one day.

Then I returned from Chicago to find both my answering machine AND my (new) animated Mickey Mouse lamp have met an untimely demise.

On Wednesday while taking a ride over to Radio Shack to replace the answering machine & cell phone cord, I discovered the battery on my watch had died

...and now this morning, it's my coffee maker! It must have a crack in the unit, there was water all over my kitchen counter

yeah, things break, wear out, etc, I know...but one after the other is getting on my nerves :(

I guess it could be worse, at least my cars and computers are (still) running (so far) :p :p

Shhhhhh....don't jinx it PP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

Hey, could be worse - you could have been us this morning and wake up to no heat!!!!!!   :D :D :D

If the Mickey Mouse lamp is that new, I'd bring it back or call the 800 number for customer service.

Yes, JJ...Mickey is new, less than two months in fact. I'm glad I still have the receipt. It's just aggrivating that we no longer have a Disney Store in Stamford, I have to either take a ride up to Trumbull, CT (20 miles) or out to the Palisades mall (not even sure if they have the lamps there, I'll have to call)

Perhaps you're carrying too much electricity and it's short circuiting everything that you touch ;);)

Poor you :(

Here are some bouncies to make you feel better :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Ugh...I just called several TDS's...they don't carry the lamps in the stores. Called WDW and they advised the turnaround for shipping it back & getting a replacement would be up to 6 weeks  I guess I'll just be bringing it back with me in November.

side note: I had to laugh, when I called, the telephone greeting is so long-winded they all sounded out of breath when they finished. I called three different stores and heard it three times, all said in a rush to get it out quickly, LOL. It went something like this:
Thank you for calling The Disney Store at the (insert mall name here), where you can get 10% off any Halloween costume purchase when you pre-purchase Disney's Lilo and Stitch. This is (insert CM name here), how may I help you?"

:p :p :p

Too funny about the phone speech, Donna! :teeth:

A couple of weeks ago, I called our Disney Store for something, and the lady who launched into a huge speech about buying Beauty and the Beast. I said, "wow! That was a mouthful!"

I can so relate to this! You are not alone. Same kind of week for us. First I take the dog to the vet for her yearly shots - vet says the dog has a fractured tooth (which would explain her horrible breath). Had to have the tooth out - $287. DD is getting 4 teeth out next month. Insurance won't cover the hospital room (she has asthma so they need to do it at a hospital) - $866.00. Then, just to top things off, the fuel pump in DH's truck dies last night - $280.00. When will I ever get to buy my WDW tickets????? :(

I hate when that happens! I had a week like that this past summmer. It wasn't fun!

Good luck Donna!

I am staying away from this thread....;)
