I just glanced down at my hands for a quick moment and I could have sworn they were my mother's. Well not really, but my hands are looking old like I remember my mothers looking. I am approaching 40 and I don't look my age, but one look at my hands and oh my!!!!

I just read my post and when I saw "I am approaching 40" that was another oh my moment. I don't feel like I am inching closer to 40, but golly gee I really am a grown up aren't I!

Ohhhhhhhhh I think that's kind of neat!!!

About 10 years ago I was at a family reunion and we were all gathered in a small church down in southern Minnesota. The woman in front of me had her arm draped across the pew and for a moment I thought it was my mother, JUST because of the hands. Then I realized "HEY! This 'stranger' IS family! Those are 'family' hands!" :Pinkbounc

I decided then and there that when my mom passes away, I'm going to look this other woman up just so I can see my mother's hands one more time.

I think it's really cool to have your mother's hands. :teeth:

Debbi,
Be proud of those hands. My mom has been gone 7 years and every Mother's Day I look at my Darling 8 year old, and I thank God that she looks like her grandma... I consider it a blessing that I see things in me (and Kari) that are like my mom.
(I know you were just stating what a weird experience it is to notice that, but wanted to remind you that it really is a blessing.)

However, when I hear my mother's voice come out of my mouth.. that I am NOT so sure is a blessing!

Happy Mother's Day, my friend!

I know what you mean. We were watching a movie with Diane Keaton the other night and she looked so great and incredibly young, but my fil and dh said, yah, but look at her hands, they give her age away, Ugh, wish I had worn gloves and sunscreen in my 20's! I guess we should look at the good things about it like everyone else said.

You lucked out! When I look at my hands, I see my dad's. :faint:

LOL - I remember that moment! I was working on something and darn it if my mom's hands hadn't jumped right into the place where mine used to be! How does that happen??

I just said the same thing to dh a couple of weeks ago! I have my mother's hands! Yikes! LOL!

I don't like my hands. To me they look like they should be on an older person. I don't think the rest of my looks old, but my hands do. Maybe they are the first to "go". :(

Be glad you just have the hands. I managed to get my mother's stomach!
