I imagine not since it's so popular. My one son wants some Star Wars sets, and another Ninjago sets. I've seen the buy one get one 50% off at Toys R Us...but is that about it? Thanks for any help.

The deals TRU runs are about as good as you'll get. Target sometimes put them on sale for a little off, not much usually. Amazon often will have good prices when someone else had a decent sale.

Personally I've found that TRU prices are so much higher than retail (at least in the brick and mortar stores) that BOGO 50% off isn't really much of a deal on some things. Be sure to check lego.com for actual retail prices to make sure it's a reasonable deal. Some things are, some definitely aren't! Star Wars sets always seem to be marked up a lot, IMO (smaller sets you'd see at WalMart or Target for $10 or $12 were almost $17 at TRU last year!).

Keep your eyes open online, last year Lego had a Black Friday sale at lego.com that was a pretty good deal IF you actually got the set(s) you wanted.

Disclaimer: I ran into awful issues with their web site malfunctioning and having to retry ordering probably 5 or 6 times, and some of the items that showed in stock when I ordered - and that I got a confirmation email for, noting when shipment would be - ended up being backordered for an indefinite amount of time! Meaning I would NOT have gotten them in time for Christmas even though they showed in stock and I spent and hour or more, literally, trying to get the web site to work so I could order them. Lego offered a merchandise credit for my troubles which was never received, which sort of added insult to injury.

Bottom line - watch for a sale on lego.com for BF, but don't wait for that if the items are in high demand. To me, the potential savings wasn't worth the stress and I wish I'd just picked them up earlier from WM or Target (I put off buying/ordering because I received an email about the % off sale). By the time I had to find the sets locally, they were out of stock at all the nearby stores and I had to hunt around and drive all over the place to find the sets I had planned on buying. In the end, no savings, just lots of wasted gas!

Our local TRU had inflated prices up until July of this year. The sales associate was telling me that they had to match lego.com's price because they were losing too much $ to them, walmart and target. So far the only item in store that been marked up is the SW advent calendar. I am sure this vary by region though.

I checked on lego.com for the sets DS wants and their prices were higher than the TRU prices in the ad that just came out on Sunday. I think I'll get them at TRU instead of waiting until black friday.

Make sure to think outside the box too...my local museum's store carries legos and they are having 40% off on Black Friday. Ask around, you might be able to find some deals.

Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled in Jan. and July. That is when the big toy markdowns happen and you can get lego sets for as much as 75% off. I buy them then and keep them hidden! :thumbsup2

Just for getting a collection going in general and not specific sets that he's asking for as gifts...get the word out among friends and coworkers. We super lucked out with DH's pervious supervisor at work. Her DS was in high school and had a massive collection of Legos that he was ready to part with - he was really happy to get some cash and we were more than thrilled to get a ton of Legos for pennies on the dollar.

If you get Barnes and Noble coupons - get them there! I got a 40% coupon the other day and got a Star wars set that was $60 for like $37?

TRU hardly ever includes Star Wars in their sales...and they are so overpriced (their lego sets run on average 7-15 more than Target or Walmart online). That is here at least - I scan everything with the Red Laser app on my iPhone before I put it in the cart...LOL

Also, check Walmart.com - search LEGO BUNDLE....they have some sets bundled in packages (pick two, etc.) that are a GREAT deal.

I got a great deal on the Star Wars Millennium Falcon at TRU a few weeks aqo, I got it for under 100.00!

Right now (as in today keep checking) Amazon is having some LEgo lightning deals.

Good luck I am looking for deals on the HP sets. I have one more to go!

I found the really big Ninjago set ($120) for $30 at Target about a month ago. They sometimes discount Legos by 50-75% off. I got it for my DS' bday, along with the .39 Ninjago from last week. I just lucked out though, I've seen the same set at other Targets not on clearance.

And I read about the Lego store having scratch off discount cards on BF.

Defintely keep an eye on the Amazon lightning deals. They had two of the smaller star wars sets available today. You do have to stay glued to the computer because they sell out in less than a minute.

Costco!

The star wars republic ship was $20-25 less, I bought it a couple of weeks ago, and can't remember now. Also, the builder kit books that are $30 are $15 at Costco. They had Atlantis, star wars, and city. They had 4 star wars Lego pens for, I think it was $15. And, the darth vader Lego Book was$10 or $11. I wish I could remember more, but they were great deals!

I also bought the black pearl for $80. And you earn 2% back with the executive card.

I also buy clearance Legos on the site, earn points, wait for free shipping and a free small gift and go through ebates.

Remember if you still have the ad paper and spend $75 on the lego sets you get a $10 gift card. The weekend doorbuster sale has the sw $15 sets for less than $9. You need to have the doorbuster ad paper to use the extra $20 WOW deal to get it.

Man! My Costco didn't have any Lego Star Wars or Pirates. They only had one Harry Potter set and one Alien Conquest. DS wants the Black Pearl desperately, but I don't want to spend $100 like it is priced everywhere else.

I may check another Costco tomorrow.

Last year Aldi had some sets including Star Wars.

Costco has some of the Lego sets online if they don't carry them in your store.

Since these are not things I buy, I don't what a "good" deal is. However, I have seen lego sets in the Black Friday ads, and I know BF usually has some of the best deals.

My ds wanted the Harry Potter sets. Just last week Target online was much much less expensive than TRU or Lego.com. The castle itself was 55 dollars cheaper without any discounts at all.
