Here it is, approaching 7:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve. I'm at the kitchen table on the laptop. DS14 is upstairs on the Wii. DH and DS11 are lying around in Snuggies watching a hockey game. The only plans we have are to order pizza. The most excitement we had today was buying a new bunny cage for our newest arrivals. Don't we sound like a happening bunch?

Actually, I wouldn't have it any other way! Everyone's happy, healthy and together. I'd take this over a night on the town any day!!!

That's usually our New Years!! This year, since we moved closer to family, my MIL came up and watched my DS while Dh and I went out to dinner. We were going to go out further but decided to come home and don't even have the distance to watch a movie now.

Sounds like us, I am on the computer, DS17 is on the Wii (or Xbox 360 ?) and DH and DS14 are watching tv. DD14 is sleeping over at a friends house though--the party animal.

I am thinking about grabbing my book and heading for bed--how is THAT for an exciting NYE???

Sounds like us here! Just finished our delivery pizza too! DD 17 at her annual New Years slumber party, dd14 getting ready to head out to a church dance in just a bit and dd13 is about to fall asleep on the couch after ice skating all day. Husband is watching a guy movie downstairs and I'm at the kitchen table going back and forth between playing mahjong titans and catching up on the disboards. Some years it just doesn't bother me to just stay in for New Years.

Hubby is upstairs playing poker on the computer, I am on the laptop, ds is playing his Xbox. Yeah we're a happenin' crowd. Do I have to stay up til 12?

I'm listening to a football game and chatting with friends, DH is playing video games. That is our night.. nothing too fun happening here. Oh, I might take a bath later on to help my back!

Yeah, we're right there with ya. DH & I just finished up watching Harry Potter. Gave Christian his bedtime snack and packed him off for the night. We're about to break out the cheese ball and wheat thins. Woo-hoo! We are livin' la vida loca!

We have a fire burning and DH and DS#! are watching movies. DS#2 is working in a restaurant and probably will hang with his friends later. I chose not to watch 'Inglorious Basterds or Public Enemy" as I just don't care for them. I like most movies but DH should get to choose once in a while. Right? I am listening to a book on CD as I DIS. We will have some cookies and drinks closer to midnight. We never go out on NYE. Too dangerous.

We are also a happening bunch! I'm on "my" computer with two of the doxies in my lap. DD 19 is on her laptop. DD 15 is back and forth between "her" computer and the den. We are flipping back and forth between Dick Clark's NYE, football, and Disney Channel. Yep, we a super exciting group!

us too. DD14 & DD6 are playing WII - actually we're all taking turns. BIL & girlfriend are over. We're all in the family room but BIL fell asleep at 10pm. DH won the bet on what time he would fall asleep. I'm on the lap top currently. We had spaghetti w/meat sauce and lots of snacks. Even the dog is asleep.

Y'all sound like my kind of peeps!
Let's see. We ordered a couple of pizzas. Watched a movie on pay-per-view--I dozed off after I finished off my popcorn. Now DS is on his computer playing World of Warcraft. DH is in bed reading. I'm DISing and watching Biography with Mary Tyler Moore. I'm thinking about getting crazy and ordering another movie and cracking open another Diet Coke!

We just finished playing Mexican Train Dominos. Now DH is making nacho's and I am considering heading to bed. DS7 and DD10 are watching Carson Daly. Happy New Year to all on DISboards. Prayers to all ( including myself) looking for a job in 2010.

DW & I are right there with you. She wants to witness the blue moon, but I doubt either one of us will make it to midnight. We're in EST, our DD is in PST. We made a deal that we'll call her at midnight our time if she promises not to call us at midnight her time(3AM).

Husband and I are watching a Thin Man movie and he's on facebook.

I'm on the DIS and getting ready to get up to make another Sugar Plum Fairy drink (2/3 glass of champagne, 1/3 plum wine, splash of cranberry juice and garnish with a gum drop or two.)
DD10 is playing with the dog.

Do that's our fun night. LOL

I knew I liked the folks on the DISBoards! Kindred spirits....DH & I are staying in. We watched a hockey game, some Bowl game is on. We had fresh dungeness crab; we still have steaks to broil (it's even too cold out here to BBQ!) We rented Julie & Julia. I'll have to wake up Mom to get her into bed soon.

I did New Year's Eve last night. At 5 am, I gave up trying to get sleep and grabbed a shower. 8 am doctor's appointment led me to knowing I have bronchitis. Anytime I tried to sit or lay down, I would cough up a lung. So, I never went to sleep last night.

So, I am in the basement on the computer because sitting on the couch or chair I lean back too far and start coughing. My 2 girls are still running all around playing with horse toys or something and Wifey is in the living room reading a book.

Little over an hour to go. Not sure if I'll make it or not. Wifey and I haven't seen midnight on New Year's Eve in probably 8-9 years. It means nothing more than a lot of scratch marks on the bank checks where we scratch off the mistake of writing the previous year for the first month or so. That and the timing is now 2 weeks until my W2 forms are available so I can get my taxes done and sent in by the end of January (being poor makes doing taxes a cakewalk)

DH and I are on our computers, DS8 and 9 are upstairs playing Wii, DD is watching Disney channel and DS13 is at a friends house for a sleep over.

we don't go out on NYE. DH calls it amateur night, all the people that don't drink all year get completely hammered tonight. Plus it snowed all day so the roads are bad to boot.
