I know this has been asked several times...but........

Don't bags that carry all that food, water, cameras...etc....get a little awkward get heavy after a day of walking around?

I would prefer to wear like a fanny pack or something - but I am not sure if any are made large enough to carry what we need. We will probably all carry a bag type thing...

sunscreen - small bottle
water bottles (maybe)
cameras
Bodyglide or blistershield...
autograph book/pens
snacks (maybe)
tylenol - small bottle

Are the lockers convenient at all?
I have seen some other threads on bags to carry - but they all look like they could get heavy....

Any ideas?

We use a very small backpack (like the kind people use for purses) - ours is mesh so is very lightweight (I think it came from the Gap) and holds everything we need - except the water bottles - (camera, sunscreen, autograph book and pen, tylenol, bandaids, extra pair of socks). Becuase it is a backpack, the weight is pretty evenly distributed so isn't too bad. My dd and I take turns wearing it - and have since her first trip to the world when she was 6 (that time it was at her insistence).

Good luck and have a magical time!:flower1:

Sounds good.... thank you! :) We are looking forward to going to Disney, that is for sure!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: haha

I "tested" my back pack at Six Flags. I put everything in it that I plan on taking to the parks at WDW. Had no problems. You can carry one around for a day that you know you will doing a lot of walking and get a feel of how heavy you can handle it.

I was surprised at how many times I actually put it down for rides, eating, shows, etc. It never was a bother. Also, my DD10 carried it part of the day.

I found a bookbag very annoying. It only lasted the first day and then I ditched it. I found everytime I turned around, I was having to dig for something out of it and quickly became a pain. I know fanny packs arn't the best looking thing but It would be my choice over bookbag for sure. I ended up using my purse which worked fine for me. :wave2: ::yes:: :wave2:

I found a great backpack at Eddie Bauer that has one big strap that goes across your body. It's very padded, the backpack stays where its suppose to and ... the very best part... no sore shoulders. It also has a special pocket on the strap for a cell phone. IMO- perfect for WDW

I found a neat site.... ebags.com...had a bunch of different styles of fanny packs for about $15-$25..there are some that are more expensive - but I think the Triton - name of the style looked good. On the review section... there was a lady who recently went to WDW and used it and loved it..... so I think I will get that one.

thanks!:)

IF you go to ebags throught mousesavers, you get a 20% discount. (But you have to pay shipping)

Hey, I think I miht have gotten the same pack you did. Plus one for my daughter.

Clutter,I DID go to mousesavers and followed the link to Ebags! I got a GREAT fannypack type bag(High Sierra I think was the name) It was a fanastic deal for $15.99 plus s&h for a total $19 and change! I'm very happy with it!

i went to walmart and bought one of those bookbag purses it it light weight and small and it was on clerance for $5.00 i am going to try it out this trip.

We have always had a baby carriage. But recently my son has been hiking with boy scouts. Now boy scouts really know how to do things. I got him a daypack. It is smaller than a school backpack and has a strap around the waist to help distribute weight properly so as not to hurt oneself or be uncomfortable. Mt (lazy) son loves it. Works great. Got it a target.

I think I'll rent a stroller even when the kids are bigger. I have to take a ton of crap with a medically fragile child. It is worth the cost to not lug stuff around.

I too went to Mousesavers and followed the link to e-bags, found a great waistpack from High Sierra for bout 15 bucks, the blue one, I bet it's the same one airhead! Except they won't ship overseas! I'm so bummed :( , I hate when that happens. I guess I'll have to keep looking.

I have been wondering about the drinks situation. I guess people really do carry around water bottles all day to save money, but I wonder how all that works on the rides? Can't handle a waistpack that would hold the water bottle, that would be to heavy for me. :charac2:

Thank goodness for the Dis, I am boring my boyfriend to death with all the bumbag, water bottle questions! For me the joy in the planning is almost as wonderful as the trip itself ::yes::!

What a shame they won't ship it for you. Do you know anyone in the states that would help you? And as far as the waterbottle goes,I have a britta bottle with filter that I will carry empty. When I'm thirsty I'll fill it at a fountain or restroom.

To Airhead-

where did you get your britta bottle? My dh loves water from his Britta at home and I think that this would be the perfect solution for us.

It is great to hear another person has used that bad and liked it! I just found it at a local sports/camping store!!! ::yes::
I would rather not pay for shipping!

thanks!
:jumping1:

Believe it or not, they're found in the plumbing dept at Walmart's!! Actually, that tip came from someone right here on this board!!

Airhead I do have someone in the states that could ship the bag to me but I guess I should just look around here a bit more first. I think I'll actually have to go in a shop, haha :) I did a search on google for the bag and Amazon has it too, but e bags ships it, so...my luck. But I'll find something round here surely! I guess you tuck your empty Brita in your bag when going on the rides then? I want one of those neck thingys for my water bottle when we go...I want all the regular gear that all the Disers have ::yes:: ! I bet I can pick up something cool at MK when we get there, can't wait!

We bought lightweight bags for our trip, but have since been advised tha you can't take backpacks etc on the rides with you, Is this true? if so are there safe places to keep your bagsat each ride? I know about the lockers, I'm sure we will use them if things get heavy, but we will still have the essentials???????????
Regards confused:crazy:

LLBean has a good selection of hip packs in different sizes. They probably ship overseas, too. Check out hip and lumbar packs in the outdoor gear and apparel section. www.llbean.com
