Are you worse in the winter?

I was just Emailing a local pal who is also a DVC member and "Disney dreamer." I commented to her that I think I fixate on WDW more during the winter, when the weather is cold and gray here in Indiana. Is this common?

I also noted that as I settle in to a "regular WDW visiting pattern" I find myself obsessing and planning more than ever, as opposed to feeling "enough already!" We just got back from a week at OKW, but I can't WAIT until Spring Break. I have so many things I want to see and do, but mostly I just want to BE at WDW! I keep remembering the pools, and the ducks, the gorgeous skies and all the flowers, and of course the boatride past Saratoga. I am SO excited to see it once it opens!

I know this daydreaming is crazy but I suspect I am in good company...

Yes, without a doubt. Our family spends most of the summer at "the Beach" in Maine, so that takes a lot of concentration itself. In the winter we concentrate on going where it's warm. WDW in particular. Therefore we find ourselves spending far more time on these boards in the winter.

Yes you certainly are in good company. I think everyone wants to be somewhere warm in temp. and spirits if they are in a cold climate this time of year.

I also think that being regulars (DVC owners who go often) and frequenting the boards you know what there is to do. I have a "next time" list of things I have never done that only seems to grow the more I go and the more I know. My list is longer than most people who have only gone once or twice (and I am at 10+ trips in the last 10 years). I think our obsession;) makes us want to see it all. Resort tours, clubs, obsecure nooks and crannies of each park, etc. I think that is why we are all the perfect DVC owners, we know there's always more to see.

I don't know... this past Spring, when the rain never ended, got us in the Disney Dreaming mode :genie: . (That's how we learned about the FTP!) By then we were truly sick of winter and were looking forward to something warm and it just wasn't happening. Right now the kids are having a blast with this first significant snowfall, with their snowmen and sleds, that the Dinsey urge has been surpressed a bit. I'm looking forward to someday becoming a DVC owner just like you! So here's a "no" vote for the winter but a yes for the Spring.

Anyway, completely off topic, my kids are playing "rides" at home. We had a great trip in early November and now they are setting up their chairs in a line and pretending to ride a roller coaster, complete with screams. They are urging us to keep our arms and legs in the vehicles at all times and are inventing "avalanch stunt show" with the snow on their playhouse outside outside. For days my daughter, who is three, was finding "hidden Mickey's" with her fruit loops. Can you say "Disneyfied?"

Colleen,

You are in very good company! And as a new owner at SSR...I can't tell you how much I appreciate your recent photos...thank you so much for them...I look at them and daydream!

:sunny: Even my 6 year old DS will back you on this one. It has to be worse for all of us in the northern states!!!! The long cold wait. ::yes::

Yep! Winter is here, and so is the WDW dreaming and planning! I just booked October '04 and now am thinking about Dec. '04 as well! We will get our January fix in a little over a month!

Absolutely.....the winter is agonizing here in the northeast ! WDW dreamin' is the only thing that gets me through it !

As I was shoveling off our front steps this weekend, I kept dreaming about Blizzard Beach. *Go to your Happy Place*Go to your Happy Place* It really helped!

Yes!! I have been making the final decisions for our Dec 04 trip while all the snow is falling:tongue: We also scheduled an impromptu trip for next week because I can't stand this cold weather!!

I think, Colleen, that there is a very large crowd on the Dis with the same condition!:)
