We haven't had much rain this summer and our yard is dead. (Yea! I don't have to mow!;) ) However this is a new neighborhood is new for us and our neighbors tend to water. This makes our yard look bad but I just don't think it's right to water the yard during a drought. (JMHO) Plus it's too expensive in our new water dist. I know some of you are having a lot of rain where you are so I was just wondering......

Yes and no. We've been having enough rain to not have to worry about it, but *just* enough for the most part. There have been a few times when we've had a couple of patches that started getting too dry, and we'd water those. Otherwise, nope.

No drought in Boston, but our water prices are sky high due to the efforts to save the harbor. We have an automatic sprinkler system which waters every other day; I disable it when we get rain. It also is hooked up to an "outdoor" meter which is less expensive than our "indoor" usage......

We have an automatec sprinkler that comes on every three days - there is a rain sensor that won't let it come on if it is raining.

Yes, but I don't when there are years that they ask people not to or to ration. When water is plentiful, I water.

However, I think a well trimmed, relatively weed free, yellow lawn can look fine even if it's in a neighborhood full of green lawns. I have one neighbor that does this and it looks fine. There are several other neighbors that don't water, but their yards are really unkempt in general - those are the ones that look bad.

We've had so much rain here that I don't think I'll ever have to water my lawn again!

Never water here. The water costs too much! It always turns green again in September.

No need. It's been raining enough. It did go through a dry period, but we didn't water much. The water bills are too high and it always rains and greens up again eventually.

All it has DONE this summer is rain. We can't seem to string three dry days in a row together. No watering for us.

My backyard is currently underwater for the umpteenth time this summer. On a whim, I threw down some grass seed before Memorial Day. No straw. No watering. Just seed. And it is thriving.

I cannot remember having this much rain since the year we moved into our house (1985). I feel bad for the folks that are experiencing drought conditions and especially bad for all the farmers in NE Ohio whose fields are being subjected to too much of a good thing.

We've definitely had enough rain! Usually by this time in the summer, our lawn turns that nice shade of yellow, and doesn't need to be mowed anymore.

Unfortunately, the rain has kept the grass green, and growing like stinkweed!!!
