Our extended family always says "you're going AGAIN"? I just laugh.

My husband does not understand why I go on these boards or how I can plan our trips soooooooooo far in advance. He likes that our trips go smoothly though. Go figure!

I am the main Disney nut in the house and Gabby loves Disney, but she isn't as addicted as I am. She was raised in Florida, so she has been to WDW many, many times. She can get over-pixie dusted more easily than I can. lol

My father has no love for anything in Florida. He is a mountain vacation type of guy. Even when we did go to WDW when I was a kid, it was never planned out. There never were hotel reservations prior to leaving home. It was all fly by the seat of your pants. He still travels that way. It's no wonder that his last WDW experience left a bad taste in his mouth. It was back in 1986 and the whole concept of making reservations for dining at a theme park was just foreign to him. You should have heard him griping aobut waiting 2 hours for dinner at the Coral Reef. And, of course, the prices were just nuts as far as he was concerned. Needless to say, the man has no idea why I would want to go there year after year.

For the record, I love Pixie Dust! :teeth: Maggie

Family -- When it comes to my family, everybody loves WDW and Disney in general. My mom and dad took me to WDW for the first time 1976 when I was 5 years old and we stayed at the Poly. This started it all for me. My mom is very conservative so she always favored Disney because of it's family nature and safe viewing for her children. Therefore, I have always loved it too.
My husbands family also loves Disney and has visited WDW with DH as a child and also by themselves.
I would say that we are the only ones in our family that love to go to WDW everyyear...but the family understands why..especially because we have 2 DD's.

Friends -- When it comes to friends, we are the blacksheep in this catagory. Our friends do not understand how we can love going to WDW everyyear and think it is to expensive. All I hear when my #1 DD was 2 is that she will never remember it so why are you going. I told them that it is true - she won't remember it - but I will and my memories are important also. I also told them that she will return and she will have the opportunity to remember WDW. DD#1 returned everyyear since and remembers everything perfectly, sometimes even reminding me of things I forgot about.

Oh well, all that matters is that my DH and I are compatible in our love of WDW and that is what is most important to me.

We are a big happy Disney loving family, for the most part. DH and I decided to not go on a Honnymoon so we could take our kids to WDW instead (yes I know we did that in a funny order). My Sister loves Disney like me. My brothers are on the fence, but spoiled as they live in CA. They might just not realize how great it is, they have never had to go without. My In-laws are all Disney lovers, MIL, FIL, SIL, and BIL!! My Dad is the one who got me started, he loves Disney. My Mother is the black sheep around here, she doesn't like it (too much walking, too much money, too many people, too hot...). She gets sick on the Teacups, so rides are not her thing. She went with the family twice when we were kids and went one time with my Dad after we were grown. I try to get them to join us on our trips for my Dad's sake but they never do...

My situation isn't as dire as you describe, but as far as Disney mania is concerned, my case is much more advanced than my other family members. With respect to friends, most of them went once when they were children, and that's it:earseek:

Don't you want to go anywhere else??

Believe it or not, I could go other places if I chose to!

Haven't you done it all yet? What's left to do???

There are 47 square miles. I haven't touched it yet...

Why do you want to do the same thing each year?

Nobody asks skiers why they want to return to Vale each and every year.. same old mountain, same cold snow...

I don't mind. I'm obssessed!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

baa baa black sheep have you any wool?? That is me!!

Actually my mom enjoys it as much as I do so I do have one other black sheep to hang around with....lol

The only thing is im married and my DH can take it or leave it, and he likes to go hunting so at the end of the year he goes hunting and I go to WDW with mom!!

I get the same questions, don't you want to see other things?
It isn't like I haven't been other places....I Did do the Disney 7 day cruise you know!!! LOL

I will have to remember the comment about Skiers though, that is a good one!!!

We are more like gray sheep around here... :teeth:

I was raised going to Disneyland, since I was an infant. My parents, especially my dad, are definitely Disney freaks. My DH and I are planning on going out to California to visit my family this summer, and my dad is already angling to make a quick Disneyland trip with us.

My DH's first ever Disney experience was this past December, on our honeymoon, at the age of 23! His family never went to WDW, amazing as that seems to me. DH is now certifiably Disney-insane. He is constantly talking about when we're going back, and what we'll do there, where we'll eat, etc.

My DH's family doesn't understand our obsession with all things Disney, but they don't ridicule us for it either. They are camping-type people, definitely not the theme park kind.

I have one friend who's crazy about WDW, so we talk together. Our other friends and coworkers think we're crazy, but that's okay. :teeth:

Disney fanatic rankings of family - 1 being "no way Jose" and 10 being "I live and breath Disney."

Me - 9
DH - 7
DD - 4
DS - 3
My mom - 7
My dad - 3
My future SIL - 1 (he's going anyway)

Everyone goes if we pay.

The kids and I are freaks, the rest can take Disney or leave it. My coworkers think I'm weird. I tell them I can't help it if I'm in love with a mouse and a dead guy.

Hi StaceyA,

We did the cruise too!

I just love DisneyWorld...:bounce:

I wouldn't call myself a black sheep. I don't get the why do you go all the time, because DH and I don't. We go when our budget allows us to. Last time was May of 2001, next time will be May of 2006. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm the big Disney freak in my home, but DH goes and has a great time when there. When you ask him why, he'll tell you it was because he was with me! :love2: :lovestruc I ALWAYS cater to his needs while there in Disney because he strictly goes for me. I do things that I know my DH will like: The Virgin Mega Record Store in Downtown Disney, BOMA at the AKL, one sit down meal a day, and out of the parks by 1pm to rest for the evening.

I LOVE Disney and Tigger and feel so blessed when DH and I are able to visit one of the happiest places on earth! :teeth: :hyper:
