The price is definitely getting up there, but this will be the last big trip we'll do before DS starts school next year so it's one last hurrah for a while.

This is our first chance (and the reason for choosing to come at this time of year) so the price was a drop in the bucket of the total trip.
BUT the amount of the tickets is effecting what we spend on other things(still deciding what dining, tours etc) and things like any premium packages (like last years villain soriee at MNSSHP)

No, for us money is no object. We're skipping the Christmas party this year because we've done it almost nine years in a row. Not enough changes for us to escape that "been there, done that " feeling. This year on party nights, we plan to spend the evening visiting one of the other parks or having a fabulous dinner at one of the resort signatures or Disney Springs! Merry Christmas!

Same here !! We just booked pirate and pals for July, and cost us $198- so it's not the price---- we just don't enjoy it as much as we used to. Have gone with DW for 15-20 years--- never missed MVMCP --- been going with the kids for last 10 years, but it's lost some of it's magic--- at least for us. I remember the days of the free photo, and I seem to remember the party ending at 1am ( but not positive about that) --- just doesn't seem to be worth it for us anymore-- between the time spent waiting to secure a spot for the parade and fireworks, just doesn't seem like much time is left for anything else. Even our DD9 said to skip it this time (which shocked me !!)

We are planning on having a really nice dinner, and seeing "La Nouba" instead this year. :))

We're going with a group of 10 people. 6 of us have decided to go to the party, the other 4 aren't going because of the price

We are skipping for two reasons. Price and the fact that for the past several years it has been much more crowded and it seems to be the same each year even the cookies :) I think we will wait a few years and try again.

Did the price go up this year? I have always thought that the Christmas and Halloween party were expensive but we braved them last year. We loved the Halloween party but were disappointed in the Christmas one.

Think it went up $5--- have to agree--- Mnnshp is better (just my .02)

Wish they would bring back "Pirate and Princess" party--- ! That was the best !!

We usually go every other year, but I will agree that it has lost something. I remember 10 years ago much more than we do now. I don't mind if the price increases, but don't take things away. That doesn't make any sense to me. It is fun, but it's getting more crowded.

We've never been to the Halloween party so I don't know anything about it but we always do the Christmas party at least once while we are there over the holidays. Such precious times. But goodness I had no idea the price went up if it gets to be too expensive for us then I'll just put some sugar cookies and hot chocolate mix with the little marshmellows in my grandsons backpack on a no-party night and he'll probably never know the difference.

We've been skipping the party for several years now because we don't think its worth the price any more.

We won't be there during the Christmas party, but we are skipping MNSSHP this year because we just don't feel like the value is there anymore. We'll eat at California Grill and watch Hallowishes there instead.

I haven't done it for about 6 years so I think I will this year. I was there in November 2013 and didn't do it.

Taking a hiatus not due to money. Well actually that isn't true, it's not due to MY money. It's Disney packing the parties to get OTHER people's money. That is a big negative. Plus we've been plenty. Will probably go again in a few years.

We were already unsure if this trip was worth the expense because we're traveling for a wedding (already expensive with several of us in the wedding party) and were going to swing by DW while in the neighborhood, but the extra for the party has me questioning the whole trip now because I hate not doing what we want, but I can't swallow that pill of several hundred more. Definitely not doing the party though, sadly.

We are going, but using it as our Magic Kingdom day instead of an actual park day. Since we are able to get in at four, we figure this will be a good substitute. My kids are older now, so we are not into all of the princess stuff and mainly like the Christmas atmosphere, parade, and "somewhat" easier access to rides

We're doing the party this year, and it's our first party. Unless it just knocks my socks off, I doubt we'll do another one. It looks like it's going to be SO fun and magical, but for the price it better be AMAZING.
