Are You planning a trip to Disneyland in December?

Dawn, are we doing a group Holiday Tour? I would love to join a bunch of Dis'ers for that. It is my absolute favorite tour and so worth every dime! And Miss Mel is joining us at the Grand - awesome. I am sensing some visiting in the lobby around the giant tree. Here is DD from 2 years ago there...

Great picture of Breezy! The tour sounds like it would be fun. This is the weekend of Candlelight Processional, right? It sure would be nice if we could do a dining package & see the show. I would be up to joining the Holiday Tour. I took it back in 2002, so I'm sure it has changed some, plus touring with DISers is always fun.

Hello. We actually have plans to visit Walt Disney World in Nov-Dec 09. But, since we were there last year, I was thinking maybe we could visit CA this year. But, who knows... At this point, our plans are not firm and we could go either way. So, I'm looking at both locales at the moment and will make a decision in the coming months. We have some concerns...

I understand that Disneys California Adventure is undergoing a major facelift?? Has it been completed yet, or is it just beginning? Another question... How many days would you guys recommend that we put aside for both theme parks? 4? 6?? We will probably also want to take in some of LA's other attractions as well. We're open to all suggestions!!

California Adventure won't be completely done until 2012, however, as they finish things they will open them up, like the World of Color water show in the lagoon at California Adventure.

I would think four days would be good, but having said that, I would recommend a 6-day hopper, since the cost from 4-day to 6-day really isn't that much, and then you have the option of doing things in the area and going to the parks for a few hours to get your Disney fix.

We will be getting to town December 21st and tentatively spending the 22nd through the 24th in the parks...and doing local stuff the 25th (like maybe visiting the aunt and uncle, if we tell them we are in town.) The last time I was at DL that close to Christmas was 1978! Are the crowds as bad as it is rumored?

We're planning on going Dec 5-7ish with DW, DS, DMIL, DFIL, DSIL, DBIL, DN's. Don't have reservations yet, since DSIL's not sure about the budget.

Hi Ladies! I will be there the 21st and 22nd, and depending on my flight, may just go on the Happy Haunts tour with you all I may be going with a friend, with just the little boys Oct 8-11th, so would do the party then, but if not, I will probably go solo on Wed. night, just so I can say I've done it. I will be alone, on the tale end of a business trip to San Diego. I will miss Beth's bday, but I know you all will make it a great day. Anyhoo, thanks for starting this thread Heather.

We are arriving sometime during Thanksgiving weekend (probably Saturday becaue the flights are less expensive) and leaving December 5th or 6th.

DH and I have fallen in love with DL the last few visits. We have always made WDW our home this week in December but this year we will be staying at the Grand Cali and CANNOT WAIT!

I had planned on going 12/6-12/11, but I'm on the fence now that I know the candlelight processional and CM holiday parties will likely be that week. We might have to push it back a week instead.

We dodged a bullet last year in August and the park, while pretty crowded, was definatly doable. I'm hoping for the same miracle this year!!!1

Linda... the Christmas tour sounds so good. I'm wanting to know more info on it. My dad can't walk all the way through it.. but i'm thinking maybe i will pay for my mom, dad, dh and me.. and then my dh and dad can meet us at the end of the tour for the hot chocolate, pin and parade/fireworks..whatever.....see i really do need more info on the tour!

Everyone... do You have any special things for your christmas trip planned?
The other day i bought my mom some cute disney pjs at the Disney outlet store online.. i have them saved for our trip. I want to get my dad a nice robe for the trip.
