Are you on the rich-list?

Unfortunatley we are on there, #30 - we are selling our home now, and getting a nice amount of money for it, but, we have to purchase a new home to live in and that is where we are going to hit hard. There is no way young people can afford to live here anymore and the prices are going no where but up - it's really a shame.

OK, I'm going to say yes- top 20 in fact- without even looking....

nope I was wrong- top 10 :rotfl: .

My county wouldn't be because all the rich people live on the beach.
Once you get of the beach it's pretty much trailer trash.
There's some really nice areas inland, but theres a ton of low income housing.

yep, my county is #15.

Guess that explains the $1000/month rent for a 2br/1bath , maybe 900-1000sqft

that is a deal - ours is $1300/month and that is cheap for around here.

Nope, but it's not a big surprise. We live on the outskirts of the county where Cleveland is located and since Cleveland has been on many of the poorest cities lists lately, I'm sure it's not helping our median income for the county. :)

I live in a county that neighbors Cleveland's. We were not listed anywhere. Oh, and I also looked at the state's rankings. Our state was below the national average median income of $21,4xx.

Yup, #10 Morris County, NJ, which is why we rent unfortunately. We've watched several fixer-upper 2 bedroom, 1 bath cape cods go for half a million and they are calling them starter homes!

yep - on the list at # 7 Somerset County.

No wonder we can't afford to buy a new house!

No, but there sure are a lot of other Colorado counties that are.

We've got some really high-end communities with Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Boulder, counties surrounding Denver, etc.

I love my home, but the truth is - I couldn't afford to move now even if I wanted to. I am very grateful for a relatively low mortgage.

Yes, our county is on the list. However, we rent, so we don’t have the astronomical housing cost thing right now (hence why we rent, LOL!). What’s funny is that some of the Georgia counties listed as having high per capita or per household incomes are not known as all the desirable places to live. Weird, huh?

My county wasn't on the list. It is taken up mostly by San Antonio. But what I found funny is that on the list of richest Texas cities a good chuck of the top 50 were in my county. They say here that you either working poor or upper middle class to wealthy.

I've lived in numbers, 2,3, 8 and now 12.

No wonder I love deluxe resorts :lmao:

We went home shopping with my stepdaughter, it killed me to see what $500,000 would buy, but the $12,000 a year in taxes on top of that put over the edge!!!

:confused3 I always heard Dupage was suppose to be one of the riches counties in Illinois. if that is so I still can't figure out how we are surviving here. :rotfl2:

Yes and my brother and my grandparents'. Surprisingly not my parents'

Didn't realize I was on StitchfanJrs account. The response up above was actually mine. That is my DDs acct. silly me for not checking. :teeth:

Ahh, yes, how could I forget in addition to the overpriced homes in NJ, the wonderful taxes too! From what I've heard taxes start around $8,000 in my town for the smaller homes, yikes!
