We are not off, but schools are closed so I am taking a floating holiday so I can stay home with my son.

when my kids were school age they started out at Milwaukee Public for a very very short time but thats a whole other story (after one short year we were so fed up with the antics of MPS we sent them to a private school)

it always bugged me MPS would get MLK day off but not president day!

Im not sure if its still like that more then likely it is!!!

I am a SAHM so everyday is a work day
My DH works, his next paid time off is Good Friday.
Surprisely my DS has school. In our district they don't have off for MLK day but he is off on Friday the 20th for a teacher day!

Yes, I am. Between holidays and one personal day that I took yesterday, I'll have 4 Mondays off in a row! I don't know how I managed to swing that one, LOL.

I work in a school so YES!!!! We just returned on the 3rd from Christmas break!!! Then we get a 3 day break in Feb.

In the district I teach in, the students are off but we teachers have to report for our Teacher Work Day.

Yep, work for the court system, so we're off Monday. And we're going to WDW for a short weekend

I just started a county job about 3 1/2 months ago. We do get MKL day and Presidents day off. One of those (I think it is MLK) they voted to treat it as a floating holiday to be used the day after Easter (to make that a 4 day weekend)....I think we get a total of 14 holidays off a year.

The kids are off school this Monday for the first time ever too!

For some reason I get all the federal holidays off.

I'm also off Friday, my schedule works out that way.

Yes, my work observes all holidays. I love it!

Nope, we only get six paid holidays a year (New Year, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after and Christmas). DH is off and DS is off from school, but mama has to go to work.

My small school district I work in just made the big city paper for being open on MLK day. Lots of parents are angry. My DS goes to school in another district and has the day off, so I will be having to pay extra for him to stay at the daycare that day.
