i'm very modest.
i lie about grades and say i did worse than i did, if i sit next to someone who's not good in the class. when you study for 5+ hours and make a C, and i don't study at all and make a B+ or an A, i'm not going to tell you that.
i also lied about my age in my english 1010 class. it was online, and everyone always raved abotu how well i write and my grammar skills in essay writing. everyone in my class (other than me) was over 30, and the class average was a C. I made an 89. so, no, i wasn't going to tell them that i was (at the time) sixteen.
I have this problem with my english courses. I can write an A paper in a day whereas most of my class takes two weeks to write one. I always feel horrible because I never have to try to get that grade, it's a natural thing for me. The same thing happened in my French classes. Foreign languages just seem to come naturally to me, so I pick them up in almost no time. There would be kids in my classes studying for hours on end to get Bs on a test and I'd come in without studying at all and get either the same grade or higher.
Whenever I mention to people that I was 16 when I graduated high school, they always squeal and call me a genius. NO. I am not a genius, I am average smart. I was just clever & figured out a way to get out of high school early. Simple. It was flattering at first, but now I get fairly irritated. NOT A GENIUS. Guh.
Shelton, are you a guy or girl?
Same here, too. I could have graduated at 16 (I was four credits shy and could have gotten them through summer school), but the way my school is set up, you have to take economics and writing which are senior-only classes, so because of those two classes I had to spend another year in school. I don't mind it, though. I just loaded my schedule this year with classes that I thought sounded fun.
