Are you in the BLACK HOLE?

We are. Arriving Oct 14 and splitting stay between POR and BC. Our rates are AAA at $140 and $340 right now. I just read where someone going about a week later got the same resorts, same 'season' at $109 and $283. because they just made the 60 day window.

Has anyone had any luck through cro or their TA with negotiating a rate for their BLACK HOLE stay.

I would change dates if we weren't holding 5 non-refundable plane tickets. GRRRRRR!!!

Do you have APs? The 60 day deal was for APs and if they have rooms they will give them to you at that rate even if you don't book in advance. (I have gotten a late AP room recently!)

You're correct. You won't be able to use the BRP since you're less than 60 days out.

I'm at less than 60 days out too. When the 60 days out BRP was announced, I was at 60 days. I already had reservations at the Grand Floridian and checked to see if there were any AP rates through the BRP at the Grand Floridian. My resort wasn't available (the only deluxe available was Saratoga Springs), so I'm just waiting for AP rates to be released.

I'm in the black hole for my dates at POFQ, 10/15-10/18. I have do have the AAA discounts which I guess is better than nothing. I was right the cut off date for the best rate for my stay at the BC (10/18-10/23), but I did get the AP best rate discount.

yep black hole too... managed to get the fall ap rate 03 - 06 Oct but nothing still for 07-16 Oct. they are really making us sweat for this

I'm sorta in the black hole . . . .Oct 10 - 13. I used our AAA discount, but since we are going back in April 06, I was planning on getting at least one AP so I could take advantage of the discounts if there was going to be any. I keep checkin every day . . . .

We're in the black hole as well. Arriving at the Polynesian 10/12. I do have a AAA rate but we all have APs. When the BR program came out, we were under 120 days. And of course, when the rules were changed to 60 days, we're still left out.

Did get a BR for January though.

I was in the same situation.. I'm going for a long weekend Oct 13-16. I held- out as long as I could, waiting for a general public code, and decided to take the Swan for $199/night.

Have you thought about switching the "Beach Club portion" of your stay to the Swan or Dolphin? Although not "official Disney" resorts...they are "deluxe" accomodations with a great location. I understand if you've got your heart set on swimming at SB...it's a great pool! Since we're only there for 3 nights I doubt we'll even go in the pool, so it wasn't a factor in my decision.

We do have our heart set on SAB and have stayed at Swan before. I have planned this portion of our trip with less park time to take advantage. Thanks for the idea, though. It is a great location, too.

I'm in the BLACK HOLE too. I need to book Oct. 15 (an extra night at the beginning) and Oct. 21 (an extra night at the end). We're staying with DVC points for all the nights in between!

FYI - Swan and Dolphin are completely booked for the 16th and 17th of October. I talked to them this morning hoping to grab a teacher discount...I think I'm going to have to go with a Moderate with AAA discounts and keep hoping for that illusive AP code that lets me upgrade to a deluxe. My dates are Oct 14 - 17.

I am also in the black hole--10/15-10/18. I sent an email to WDW online communications last night stating our 3 week predicament of the no code/discount island (unless you're a FL resident). I know there is another link where others have also sent emails and calls to voice our loyal WDW opinions, and maybe oh maybe will get a positive response.

Whhhew, I'm glad I went-ahead and booked the Sawn last week. We are going Oct 13-16 to attend MNSSHP and the Epcot F&W festival. My only requirement was to stay in either a monorail resort, or an Epcot area resort for the great accessability. I had a feeling things would start selling out soon.
