Hello and welcome to my trip report! This is my first Trip Report even though I have read and enjoyed several others! :) Since I didn’t do a Pre-trip report I thought I would start off with the basics.

Where we stayed: Polynesian Resort this was our first stay at this resort and we really enjoyed it! Our First trip was last year at AKL.

Dining: Deluxe Dining plan

When: We visited the mouse from August 3rd to August 10th 2010

How we Traveled: we flew to Orlando and took the Magical Express

Who went?: me (16) my brother (14) and both of my parents. We are all from Spokane, Washington (East side of the state).
015-1.jpg

This isn't one of the greatest shots but we don't have many of the whole family. (me, mom, brother, and dad)

My mom and I are the ultimate planners of the trip, has been on dis always trying to learn new information. My Dad is the ultimate plan changer. He changed which resort we were going to stay at least 6 different times (The last time was after we had gotten our M.E. luggage tags so our luggage and M.E vouchers never matched up). My brother is there to make sure we do EVERYTHING and eat. My mom and dad are not big thrill ride people but my brother and I can handle some of them.

UP NEXT: Arrival day and Our room!

Our Room at the Polynesian

The longhouse we requested was Rarotonga GV room. We were a few footsteps away from the Great Ceremonial house!! We were extremely close access to the bus transportation, monorail, and the pools. We got third floor and our room was #3804. The best part of our room was we could see the FIREWORKS!! We thought since there was longhouses in front of us that the view would be obstructed but it wasn’t!! here is a few pictures of our room and it’s view.

When we first entered are room we had this guy waiting on the bed and another towel animal in the bathroom but somehow we didn't get a picture

003.jpg

Sorry we didn't take a lot of pictures of the room in general
004.jpg

These 2 pictures below are the views from our balcony

Kona Café dinner

My parents shared the Sushi platter for their appetizer they thought it was pretty good sushi (compared to what we can get at home)
010.jpg

I picked out the Kona salad for my appetizer and thought it was yummy
012.jpg

I think that my brother got the pot stickers for his appetizer and he thought they were also good
011.jpg

for my dad's entree he got the Pan Asian Noodles but he didn't think it tasted very good
015.jpg

Both my brother and I ordered the Pomegranate Pork chop! We both thought it tasted amazing!
016.jpg

My mom ordered the ginger crusted ribeye and she said it was really good!
013.jpg

For dessert my dad got the sugar free apple tart which tasted great
022.jpg

For dessert my mom and I both got the white chocolate cheesecake tasted delicous
020.jpg

My brother ordered the coconut creme kiki tart for dessert which he enjoyed
023.jpg

Here's a few snapshots of us eating
017.jpg

018.jpg

Overall we thought dinner here was good! Our server was nice and for the most part we enjoyed are food. If we stayed at the polynesian again we would probably eat here but I don't know if we would go out of our way to eat here.

After eating here we headed to ther beach, watched some fireworks, took a swim and tried to head to bed.... there was slight problem when we wanted to sleep because are T.V wouldn't turn off.:confused3 We pressed the power button on the remote and on the television itself. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone over to fix it. No one showed so we decided to unplug it. We finally went to bed around midnight, then got a call that they would send someone. We told them we unplugged it and they decided to send someone up during the day to check it out. From there on we always used caution with the t.v.

UP NEXT: A wet day at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom

We woke up early, got some breakfast at Captain Cooks and headed to rope drop at Magic Kingdom. Then went to frontierland to get a fastpass for Big thunder mountain railroad and rode Splash Mountain. Last year we rode splash mountain and barely got wet, however right as we were going by the hill another log zoomed by us and got us soaked at the beginning. So basically we were drenched the whole morning to afternoon. On are way out of frontierland we ran into Donald!(you'll notice that we look a little wet in the picture). This is my brother's favorite character so we had to stop.

My brother wanted to have his picture taken with the baseball player right outside of casey's corner.

026.jpg

This was right as we got into the park
027.jpg

We found Donald! btw- he had a very short line in the morning

039.jpg

We went on a few more rides teacups, carousel of progress, haunted mansion and TTA before we ate.

Liberty Tree Tavern

~The pictures we have for this restaurant are not the greatest and sorry about some of the food already being eaten :)but we have a few shots~

Here's a picture of the mugs at Liberty Tree Tavern
044.jpg

This was my father's Turkey meal which he really enjoyed he said it was delicous.
045.jpg

The rest of our meals didn't get pictures but we got desserts

This was the ooey gooey toffee cake which my mom and I thought was delicous
048.jpg

This was the apple tart that my father thought was tasty
047.jpg

Overall we thought this meal was great! our server was really friendly and we liked the theming in the restaurant. We would definetly come back and eat here again.

After lunch we went on Big thunder mountain Railroad and then headed back to the hotel for a swim.

Up Next:more magic kingdom and dinner at the wave

Back at the Magic Kingdom

After a break at the hotel we took back off around 4:30pm to go back to the Magic Kingdom. We did Peter pan's flight, and a few other's before we went shopping.

Here's a few pictures of Uptown Jewelers

052.jpg

063.jpg

058.jpg

The Wave

Sorry for the lack of pictures here. When we took pictures the people next to us didn't look very happy so we stopped and only took a few. Our Reservation was 7:30 and the restaurant was fair on crowds/ amount of people eating.

069.jpg

My dad asked the waitress if he could get a cappuchino instead of the dessert and they said it was alright. So my dad's dessert was the cappuchino.
072.jpg

One of the dessert platters sorry I forgot which one!
073.jpg

The wave was a nice restaurant except for the loud obnoxios people next to us. It was a large family and they were there before we entered and still there after we left. Are waitress was really attentive with refilling the drinks and going out of the way for my dad's cappuchino.

After dinner we explored the contemporary and took the monorail back to poly.

UP NEXT: Epcot

Day one at Epcot!

We woke up early and got Tonga Toast for breakfast. My personal opinion of tonga toast is good except the banana part is gross. That's the way the rest of my family also felt. When we got to epcot we decided to get fastpasses for Soarin' and then ride Soarin'. We thought my dad could handle this ride but he said he didn't like it too much because of the height factor.(last year when he came he didn't want to try this ride but this year he gave it a try.) After Soarin' we went on Living with the land,Test Track, and a little bit of Innoventions.

078.jpg

By then it was about 11:30am and time for are ressie at San Angel Inn. We didn't get any good shot's because of the lighting though. However we loved this restaurant! We found the food here to be excellent! My dad's favorite food is Mexican and so we go to a lot of Mexican restaurants around here and he found this one to be his favorite. The dish that we all thought was amazing was the bread pudding. We found are waitress to be very nice, she explained to us a description of each item on the menu. We would definetly come back to eat here again!

After lunch at San Angel inn we did some looking around at countries until we got to Germany. My dad's shoes were hurting his feet so we decided to get out of the heat and take the boat back to Mexico and walk back to the Monorail.

A viking in Norway.

This Picture was taken on are way out of Epcot
086.jpg

Next up: Dinner at Tutto Italia.... or so we thought- another change of plans

Garden Grill and more Epcot

We get back to Epcot around 6:30pm and my brother and I go on Soarin' (with are fastpasses) and they ride living with the land. So what happened to are dinner plans? Our original plans were to eat at Tutto Italia but then we realized that we were too full to eat here at 5:30pm. So we changed are ressie to 7:30pm at Garden Grill, as we couldn't get a later time at Tutto Italia.

Before are waiter greeted us Dale came over
087.jpg

089.jpg

Then Pluto
094.jpg

Mickey!
096.jpg

And chip!
098.jpg

So where's are waiter?? We had no clue where are waiter went he brought us are drinks and bread and we didn't see him again. The manager was the one who brought us are food and after we were all done eating are waiter comes up to us flustered and said would you like any more. Are drinks were practically empty and we would have liked more of certain foods, but by then we were all mostly full. He brought us are dessert but we just thought are waiter was very odd. I don't know if this is how all the waiters act in this restaurant  We probably wouldn't eat here again, we found the food to be good but the service really poor, we did like the theming of the restaurant though and character interaction.

After having Dinner we went to the seas with Nemo and Friends Pavillion. This was around 8:30pm so there was no line:cool1:

100.jpg

After that we went back to the hotel and went swimming.

UP NEXT: Epcot and Biergarten

Epcot day 2

Today we didn't get quite as early of a morning as others. My brother and I had more rides we had to do so we went to epcot by monorail and my dad slept in for about a hour while my mom explored the Poly's grounds. When we got to Epcot it was around 9:05 am and we got fastpasses for Test Track and then rode mission space. We then did where's the fire in innoventions, hurricane simulator and Sum of all thrills. Then are parent's finally got to Epcot and we met them by the large fountain.

105.jpg

We decided from the fountain that we were going to walk through the countries the other direction from canada to Germany.

This was in the UK

Here are some pictures of the food here are ressie was at 12:05pm

138.jpg

137.jpg

We thought this restaurant was great! It was one of our favorites! We were nervous about eating here and sitting next to other people but we still found it very enjoyable. We sat with a mother and daughter and they were very friendly. Are waitress was new and she did a great job. We really loved the theming of the restaurant and the food here. We would definetly come and eat here again.

After eating at Biergarten we went shopping and exploring some of the countries.

Here are some pictures of the store in Germany

My Brother really loves Erector sets, so he was excited when he saw them

UP NEXT: Dinner at Chefs De France

Love all your pictures of the restaurants reviews with pictures. This will help me decide where to eat when we return to WDW in a couple years. You are doing a great job with your trip report!:)

We got hot and tired after a while and headed back to our resort until about 5:45 then headed back to Epcot to eat at Chefs de France and do a few more rides. Only one little problem... when we got to the front gate of Epcot my brother realized that he didn't have his room key with him and he left it in the hotel room. We thought we would have to return back to are resort and get the key, but we went up to guest relations instead, because one of the cast member's said they can print out a new one. We walk over to guest relations and there is a short line since not all the windows were open. As we stood in line the guy in front of us was yelling at one of the cast members that he didn't have park tickets and has a reservation inside the park. He had a bunch of excuses as to why he should be let in such as there is not enough time to do rides, today is my last day before I leave, the reservation was a mistake and all I want to do is have dinner with my family. At one point he yelled LOOK AT ME! DO I LOOK LIKE A LIAR TO YOU! He threatened to report the cast member and say that she was being unfair. The Cast member brought up different reservations such as the wave at 7:30pm (it was 6:30) and he said he couldn't wait a hour to eat. Were not sure if he was given the tickets or not but I assume that this guy didn't buy the park hopper (plus the cast member wqas only going to charge 50 dollars a person.) because he looked really sweaty, and his family looked really tired. Anyway we weren't purposely over hearing he was yelling. Even as we walked away you could still hear him. The cast member that took care of us and printed off the new ticket was very friendly and didn't give us any hassle.

After the adventure at Guest Relations we walked over to france and found Marie!

160.jpg

Chefs de france

Here's a few pictures of the menu

161.jpg

166.jpg

163.jpg

167.jpg

This was the A la Flame Alsacienne or in english flat bread cooked with sour cream, bacon and onion. My dad and brother got this flatbread and thought it was really good. They liked it so much that they asked what cheese was put on the flatbread. We all laughed when she came back and said that the cheese on the flatbread was sour cream.(that's how I know it's sour cream):rotfl:
168.jpg

This was another appetizer the Assiette de fromages de France or in english the artisan cheese platter. We thought a couple of the cheeses were good and a couple we wish we never tasted. My favorite was the baby swiss!
173.jpg

Gratin de macaroni or Macaroni and cheese in english. My dad really didn't like this entree very much because it wasn't very flavorful. My brother enjoys more bland foods so he thought the entree was pretty good.
174.jpg

This was the Canard au miel, haricots vert et pommes de terre douce or in english the duck 2 ways. Eventhough this was a little bit greasy my mom and I really loved it! We never tried duck before but we were really impressed! We would definetly get this entree again.
175.jpg

for dessert my dad got the Croustillant feuillantine, douceur au chocolat, glace noix de coco, tartare de banane or in english the Crispy cake with chocolate milk mousse, coconut ice cream and bananas marinated in rum and lemon juice. He thought this tasted good, it was very rich.
178.jpg

My mom and brother got the Creme brulee which they both thought was good
179.jpg

Lastly I got the Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes or in english the apple crepe which was really good! I love crepes :lovestruc
180.jpg

Overall we thought this dinner was good. Were not sure if we would come back for a 7:30pm ressie again because it was very loud, and we didn't get to see chef Remy! We were also sittting really close and felt a little uncomfortable. The restaurant was really crowded and got more crowded around 8:30pm.(I'm guessing that people wanted to dine and see the fireworks) when we ate here last year around 4:30pm was a lot more relaxing. By the way while we were eating the guy that was yelling at the cast member at guest relations we saw 20 minutes after we were seated also being seated. I thought it was funny when we saw him again. Were not sure if he had to pay or if disney let him in. Are overall thoughts are to eat early at chefs de france or eat elsewhere in the world showcase.

After eating at chefs de france (8:40) we thought we could squeeze in Test Track since we had fastpasses and then head out of the park. We were wrong... We go on Test Track and the fireworks are over. That means a really long wait for the monorail. So we waited about 30 minutes to get onto the monorail and then walked over from the TTC to polynesian. We finally got back to our room after a hour of waiting.

NEXT UP: Were the celebrities at the brown derby!

Hollywood Studios

On Hollywood studios day my dad wanted to sleep in for about 45 minutes so I decided to take my brother to Hollywood studios with me to ride a few rides my parents weren't going to go on. We arrived at Hollywood studios at 8:55am and headed straight to Toy story Mania to get fastpasses. We got fastpasses and then went on Tower of Terrror. My brother and I needed a small break after that one so we decided to do a little shopping in Hollywood Studios before my parents arrived. Once they got there it was around (10:00am). My dad wanted to ride the great movie ride as soon as he got into the themepark.

The Hollywood Brown Derby

We did a little bit more shopping before it was 11:30am and we had to head over to the Brown Derby. We were not the first family to check in at the Hollywood Brown Derby but we were asked if we wanted to be the celebrity family of the day. We of course said yes!

We all recieved top hats and I was the one who got to cut the ribbon for opening of the restaurant.

200.jpg

201.jpg

203.jpg

Now to the food

We recieved bread with the meal
211.jpg

for my mom and brother's appetizer they got the Cobb salad. They both really liked it eventhough it was such a large portion. The picture shown is after are waitress mixed all the ingredients together for us.
213.jpg

This is the creamy white onion soup (also a appetizer). My dad thought it tasted really good.
212.jpg

I got the Seared Day Boat Sea Scallop for my appetizer. I didn't really care for the flavorings in it very much though. My dad missed getting a picture of it.

While we were eating here a couple of street performers came to everyone's tables. The lady shown here was drinking a H2o Tini.
215.jpg

The entree my brother, dad and I chose was the sterling silver pork chop, which we thought tasted good.
216.jpg

My mon's entree was the 6 oz. char grilled filet of beef which she also enjoyed.
217.jpg

For dessert my dad got the short crusted cheesecake which he thourougly enjoyed! He said it was one of the better cheesecake's he has eaten.
221.jpg

My mom got the Creme Brulee which she also loved!
220.jpg

Both my brother and I got the Grapefruit Cake and loved it!:lovestruc
219.jpg

218.jpg

Overall we thought are lunch here was delicous and would definetly return here, it was a great experience.

After Lunch we went through more of Hollywood Studios. My brother and I went on Toy Story Mania with are fast passes and then we explored through the streets of america.

My brother needed a little help on how to work the rain.
223.jpg

5 minutes later it started dumping rain and so my brother and I went on star tours and my mom and dad went through a few more stores.

After the rain we decided we did most of what we wanted to do at Hollywood Studios so we headed back to the hotel for a swim/break from the parks.

UP NEXT: Cape May Cafe Dinner at Beach Club

Cape May Cafe

So after we relaxed at are resort we took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and then rode on the beach and Yacht club bus. On are way to Cape may Cafe we explored Yacht club and looked around. Then we headed to Beach Club and are ressie was at 7:30pm.

Here are some pictures of the food here.

230.jpg

232.jpg

234.jpg

Overall we thought the food tasted good, but the area they seated us was a little odd. We were in a little room that was kinda closed off from the atmosphere of the restaurant. Although we didn't like the area we sat, the waitress and the food was really good. We would definetly come back!

After dinner we went back to our resort right away so we wouldn't end up in any mess with Illuminations ending and getting stuck in a long line. We took the bus from beach club to Magic KIngdom and took the monorail back to our resort.

UP NEXT: A day at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom

We arrived at Animal kingdom 5 minutes after they opened and headed straight to the Kilamanjaro Safari ride. After that ride we got fastpasses for Kali River Rapids and then went to the Maharjah Jungle Trek and saw the tigers! we didn't take any pictures of the tigers very much because it was really crowded around them and the tiger's weren't in the best spots to see them. Next we went to dinoland and we thought we could ride primearal whirl but the line was 45 minutes long with no fastpasses. Since the dinosaur dumbo had no line and we didn't ever get the chance to ride dumbo, we rode the prehistoric dumbo! We then went to dinosaur to get fastpasses before having lunch.

My brother said he didn't like this ride.... Look at his expression!:)

237.jpg

Yak and Yeti

Here is the pot stickers that my dad ordered. He got them steamed and he really liked them.
241.jpg

My mom and I both ordered the Pork egg rolls and thought they tasted good.

238.jpg

My brother ordered the Thai Chili Chicken Wings and thought they were good.
239.jpg

My dad didn't get any pictures with the real entree's so I really liked the duck at chef's de france, but here I didn't care for it. The duck was kinda dry for my taste, and I'm not the biggest fan of Asian food. My mom and dad both ordered the beef and Broccoli and thought it was good. M brother ordered the Maple Chicken and also thought it was good.

My brother and I both ordered the fried Wontons and thought they tasted good!
244.jpg

My mom got the sorbet and thought the flavors were good.
242.jpg

My dad ordered the Chocolate cake and really liked it!
243.jpg

Overall the service was good at Yak and Yeti and the food here was so-so. The problem was after we ate here my dad started to get a migraine because he possibly had something with MSG in it. We didn't even think about it until after we ate here. So we probably won't return so my dad won't get another migraine.

After eating at Yak and Yeti we decided we were not going to go on Kali River Rapids because it kept sprinkling rain. We then went on Dinosaur and Primeral Whirl.Next we went to the Oasis to look at all the animals hidden in there. We all really wanted to find the wallabee and we found him!
245.jpg

After we found him it started dumping rain so we decided to leave the park and go back to the hotel for the afternoon.

UP NEXT: Narcoossee's dinner

We had a enjoyable walk over to the Grand Floridian and decided to explore the lobby. We went through some of the stores and explored where some of the restaurants were located here.
Here's some pictures of the lobby
253.jpg

409.jpg

415.jpg

From the lobby we walked over to Narcoosee's

Narcoossee's dinner

Are Ressie was at 7:20 and we got there early and they seated us right away. For my brother's and dad's appetizer they both ordered the chilled king crab. It was pre-sliced and they said it tasted very good.
266.jpg

My mom and I both ordered the prince edward island mussels. We thought they tasted really good!
265.jpg

Both my dad and I got the Filet Mignon, we asked for medium and they cooked them medium well and were dry tasting. So the chef provided us with 2 new steaks cooked medium. Are waitress said the chef has a bad tendency of over cooking the meat. Are new filet mignon's were really tasty.
269.jpg

My brother ordered the crab crusted halibut and thought it was really good!
270.jpg

My mom ordered the summer mixed grill which had lamb and spicy lobster.
271.jpg

For dessert my brother got the almond crusted cheescake which he really liked.
272.jpg

For my mom's dessert she ordered the Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse Dome and loved it.
274.jpg

My dessert was the Gelato Sampler which doesn't have a picture, but I really liked the cappuchino icecream flavor.

My dad got Russian Earl Grey Tea instead of getting dessert.

Overall we really liked this restaurant. We probabaly would eat here again if we were on the deluxe dining plan. We were really impressed with are waitress and eventhough are filet mignon's didn't come out the best we overall enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We didn't stick around long enough to see the fireworks but we did get to see the Electric Water Pageant go by as we were eating.

ELectric Water Pageant

UP NEXT: Are last day at magic Kingdom

Your review is absolutely superb. You are very articulate for your age. Love the pics of the purses with the Mickeys on them. I think one will be a Christmas present for my daughter (22).

Great job on your TR...your pictures are so good! Love those purses .... think I might have to treat myself to one!!;)

Your review is absolutely superb. You are very articulate for your age. Love the pics of the purses with the Mickeys on them. I think one will be a Christmas present for my daughter (22).
Thankyou! I'm known in my family to be the "perfectionist" that perfectionism is also used at disney planning, artwork, decorating...o.k maybe most things I do. :) I got a disney dooney and bourke purse, and it amazed some people at the mall. They couldn't believe they made one with mickey on the front. I'm sure your daughter would love one! I wish I could have afforded to buy more patterns and styles. :)

Great job on your TR...your pictures are so good! Love those purses .... think I might have to treat myself to one!!;)
When I was in Disneyworld I got a purse at Boutiki, and the other day I amazed the employee's at Nordstrom Rack. They thought it was the coolest dooney and bourke they had seen.

Kona Cafe breakfast

We had to wake up early for are ressie at kona which was at 7:30am. The restaurant wasn't very crowded since they just opened and we were seated right away.

My dad ordered the fruit bowl and thought it was pretty good. There was a lot of fruit!
297.jpg

My mom ordered the somoan and thought it didn't taste very good. She didn't care for the flavoring at all, but ate it anyway.
301.jpg

My brother ordered the big Kahuna, I told you he likes to eat :goodvibes
300.jpg

I ordered the french toast because I didn't care for when I actually tried the Tonga Toast so I thought I would enjoy the normal french toast. I thought they tasted o.k.
302.jpg

Overall we didn't really like Kona cafe for breakfast. The food wasn't the greatest to our personal tastes. We loved the atmosphere and are waitress made us really good mocha's that came with are dining plan. I don't think we would return here though because the food didn't impress us very much.

Magic Kingdom

We got to Magic Kingdom at Rope drop again and decided to tackle some of the stuff we didn't do. First we wanted to head to Tomarrowland and ride Space Mountain....only one problem the ride was shut down. We decided that we wouldn't try to do Space Mountain this trip. We also wanted to do Carousel of Progress again because my dad liked it. That ride was also being fixed so we went on Buzz lightyear's space ranger spin. My mom and I thought that ride was kinda lame compared to Toy Story Mania and it was hard to tell where you were shooting. My brother and I decided to do the tomarrowland speed way. The line wasn't too long but what was cool was you could see the teacups and alice and the mad hatter were riding with a 2 little girls. After the cars we went over to adventureland and rode Jungle cruise and pirates of the carribean. We got fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and decided to go back to are hotel for lunch at Captain Cooks.

Tony's Town Square

LAST MINUTE change of plans. Before leaving Magic Kingdom we went through Main Street stores and then I asked my mom if we can try to get in at tony's it was about 12:00pm. We walked in and had no problem getting a seat. This was a nice break after being out all morning.

This is what the restaurant looks like, excuse my facial expression. I didn't know my dad was taking a picture with me in it.

Overall are suprise trip here was really good. We would definetly eat here again. The service here was excellent. Are waitress brought extra cheese and Garlic bread for my dad and brother. Overall we would probably eat here again for lunch because it was nice sit down restaurant and break from the park.

After lunch we headed to Frontierland to use are Big thunder mountain fastpasses. We took the train and one of the cast members came up to us and wondered what was up with my brother. My brother was cold because he had the spunomi ice cream in air conditioning. The cast member talked to us about where we were staying and how we were enjoying are trip so far. He was really nice. After big thunder mountain railroad we were able to go on Carousel of progress and then went back to our resort for the afternoon.

UP NEXT: Suprise!! Were going to eat at Artist Point!
