With the economy on the way down DISney stock is still solid. I may go in a little deeper (have 1,000 shares now) if it's very low today. The stock market is supposed to go down down down down when it opens in a half hour. I got out of all my stocks except for a couple dividend ones a few months ago.
Have you invested in Disney? Are you thinking about it?

We got $1,000 worth a few years ago when it went REALLY low (under $20). If I had the money, I'd go for more. I think they'll rebound.

don't have any and not planning on buying any. I'm taking enough loss on what I already have invested!

I've been eyeing it and thinking about it. I have a little money socked away, just waiting for that magic number to make me invest.

:banana:ooh you got in at the right time. I agree, I think DISney is going to bounce around for awhile then go back up. Good time to buy.

 So sorry. Hope it goes up for you and well, all of us. We could all use a boost. Too many losses.

Good plan. I kept looking at it but it was always too high for me. 34+ I had a little ready "to play with" Nothing big. When I thought it had reached it's lowest I bought 300 to start. Adding a little each time it fell lower. Gradually sold the higher priced ones and kept the lower. Now I'm thinking if it goes lower then 21 today maybe I'll add some more.

Off to work now, let's hope it's a Disney day on Wall Street!

Disney stock quote $22 and change. If you are going to buy, this is the time to do it. In January, the stock was at about $35 a share. So, we are looking at about a 40% decline (give or take a percent). However, we are looking at a lenghty recession here and I'm anticipating at least 2 years before the market stabilizes in a meaningful way. So, be long-term in your investments.

Have to talk to DUH and see if he's willing to go for it one more time.

The UK stockmarket took another hammering today so I would think long and hard before investing:confused3

If you know you wont need the money in the short term you may be ok :)

It is very scary and quite daunting, but the old adage goes, buy low sell high. Warren Buffett says he's cautious when everyone is buying, but buys when everyone else is cautious.

If I want STALK advice I'll ask wildeoscar... Oh, wait.... You said.....

Never mind.

It's not advice so much as it is, if you have the opportunity to do so and the intestinal fortitude it takes to be in the market these days, you could "possibly" do very well in the LONG TERM.

Yep, *if* I do buy, it is a relatively small amount, and will sit there for at least 15 years.

No offense meant. I was just being silly with STALK/STOCK.

I just can't seem to talk about anything seriously when I'm in here...

FWIW, I'm buying some stuff, too... ;)

I have some, and I'm holding it. I wish my stupid whole foods would rebound a little. Both are in my "play" account - the money I could afford to lose, and it's long term.

I'm concentrating on paying off the credit card debt and then I'll look to buying if the prices are still down.

I just bought 25 more DIS shares today, just for the heck of it. It might come down a bit more, but I do not expect it to come down too much more. I'm young enough (if you call 54 young) to hold onto my stocks and wait for the entire market to rebound...which I realize may take awhile.

I'm holding on to mine. My portfoliio has taken a beating, but I'm in it for long term and I fully expect (hope) that in 10 years I'm smiling again.
If I had money sitting around, I would be buying right now.

I added a little more yesterday as a present for DHs birthday. I agree about holding and waiting. I've been doing well lately selling some of the higher priced DIS shares when there's a bounce up. Then buying back when they go back down. My average share price is very good so I'll be
:rockband::rolleyes1sitting and wishing and hoping and praying

I wish I had the extra cash to buy right now, but my other investments have taken a HUGE hit. It's a good thing I'm young so time can heal the economy and my wallet.
