Are You Going To Watch the Eclipse?

It's going on right now.

Really? I thought it was 2 am?

Redlight, unless you are looking at a different moon, it's still full at 12:15am EST. :rotfl:

I think it is supposed to begin at 12:15am or so and be in full eclipse at 3:17am. We have patchy clouds here so I might be able to see all or part of it - we'll just have to wait and see!

I'm in SoCal, too, and it's been raining for 3 days. All I could see about 15 minutes ago was a faint white spot among the clouds. Still can't really see much. It's almost 10:30 and it's supposed to start in 10 minutes.

It's almost clear here.

The local guys said to wait until about 1:30 to see much of it here. I will wait.

Clouds coming across. I did get a quick look and could see it was starting. I hope I can get another look later.

Just heard on the news it's supposed to start at 11:40. If you can't see it, go to nasa.gov.

Ugh! I can't find our tripod!!! I really wanted to photograph this. Sigh.

Had a clear look...it's not half covered yet. It sure is cold though.

I can see it out of our back windows, so even though it's cold outside, I'm nice and warm in here. Just over halfway covered at this point. What a beautiful night!

I woke the boys up and took them out about 140, they made me promise to wake them up around 240 to see it. Its cloudy here but they were happy w/ what they could see.

I just came back in. We're homeschoolers, so we did a quick lesson today on eclipses. I had set the alarm and my oldest asked me to wake her. She just couldn't get herself up though. My pics are awful -- just a point and shoot.

I'll try again in a few minutes.

It's soooo beautiful. And once in a lifetime. Glad we are getting to see it. Hope to get a better picture than the few we already took.

We had too much snow to see it. One year DH and I were driving somewhere and pretty much watched the whole thing while on our trip. It was pretty cool.

Watched it from 2:15 AM to 2:45 AM, which was the final part of covering the moon. We had high thin clouds and did not have a good view.

I stayed up (more or less) by snoozing upright on the couch, but when I went out to look, it was too cloudy.

Beautiful clear skies in Southwest Florida. The moon turned a gorgeous shade of orange/red at the peak. Here is a great picture taken from the Brooklyn, NY area:

I was out training for the 2011 WDW Marathon this morning when at 2:40:47AM the moon became totally eclipsed. The maximum was at 3:16:57AM with the end of totality at 3:53:08AM. Crystal clear sky in SW Fl like Topper wrote.

Didn't even know about the eclipse until reading about it here on the DIS late last night.

(DH & I have not been up to speed on current events AT ALL ever since DD's hospitalization almost 7 weeks ago. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, as we can't see the moon (nor sun) from her hospital room windows).
