Are you for or against the war

Without getting into a huge political debate, I was just curious how everyone felt about this. Personally, I think when it comes to declaring "war", I think that the American public should have a say. I heard on Good Morning America that Bush has sole power in declaring war. I don't agree with that. Anway, what do you think?

I am all for war even though I am scared. My son is 20 and is they decide to draft I don't want him to be called, I told him stay in college.

I don't think anyone is for war, but I do support the president in his efforts. No one looks forward to it. No one wants it. But is it necessary? Yes.

I dont want it to happen, just like everybody else doesn't want it to happen.

I do think that Iraq is a "smoking gun". The sooner we deal with them the better. We should have actually taken care of this 12 years ago.

I just wish we'd move in and get this over with in Iraq. I hate the idea of war but I think we should disarm Saddam and take him out of power. But let's get on with it already.

I am quite surprised at how lopsided the voting is. It doesn't jibe with what I am hearing as I talk to people everyday. Maybe the "against" crowd is just more vocal.

If there were any way possible to keep from going to war, and it would actually work. I'd be all for it.
But right now, all we are doing is giving them plenty of time to get prepared. I hate war, I hate that we don't have any other options, I hate that our children, spouses, family members or friends will be over there putting themselves in danger because of it, I hate that the innocent people over there are going to have to suffer more or die because of it, I hate it, I hate, I hate it.
But it's something that we are going to have to do.

My DS is in Kuwait and I have another DS out of college and draft age now....I voted for the war, enough is enough, lets get on with it. I sure do not want war, I do not want anyone to die but we need to get rid of this guy before he kills millions of people.

I also talk with more and more people who are against this war but I am not surprised at these poll results.
The vast majority of Disboarders who have any opinion about it are for the war.
Our society is easily mislead, and frightened, by the media and by our own government.
It's useless to debate the issue.

IMO if, "Our society is easily mislead, and frightened, by the media..." we would have more people against the war. We have a very liberal media.

In fact the above quote could swing both ways. People that are against the war could be misled and frightened by the media.

I don't think anyone "likes" war. I also agree with the statements made by Serena, Keli, and Blueberry.

Well, unfortunately there is no other way to disarm Iraq. Hussein has the inspectors in there playing hide and seek and wasting time. That isn't what they are supposed to be doing. War is sometimes necessary and this is one of those times.
