Are YOU dressing up for MNSSHP?

A group of friends and I are going in September, and we've decided we are old enough to not care about the heat. Plus, once the sun goes down, we figure we'll go from 'hot' to 'warm'.

We're going as a group of Disney villains. One Shan-Yu (the villain from Mulan), one Cruella, and two of us as Anastasia/Drizella. We've already started sewing our costumes! And by 'we' I mean 'me', the only one of the group who can sew...

It's gonna be a busy few months...!

That is awesome!~ Wish I could have seen them yesterday so I could have said, "May the FOURTH be with you" :goodvibes

Ugh! I knew it wouldn't be easy being an Obi-Wannabe. Thanks for sharing your photos! I love seeing what people do for costumes in the parks at Halloween. Last year at DCA, by sheer luck, we were standing beside an excellent Padme and other SW characters while watching the MTOTP "mini-parade".

These ideas are all so great! I may have to go with the Mad Hatter instead of a fairy. All these great pictures have me really excited now!

Ahhh- I wish we were going at the same time so we could meet up! Wes would get a kick out of seeing the step sisters! But, by your counter we will miss ya by a few weeks!

We are going that same day! Hmmm...You and your husband could go as Ragedy Ann and Andy and you could dress up your little ones as whatever they like or pair them up as something. I know someone has a really cute picture on here as a little boy as Captain Hook. Your DD could be tinker bell. If you want to stick with that movie you and your husband could be a lost boy and Wendy. Just a few ideas. Alice in Wonderland also has cool costumes for all ages. I think the website is www.buyaliceinwonderlandcostumes.com and they have some really great ones!

Now that DH has found this big full blown Halo 3 costume he so wants it. But it looks so hot, its like a Storm Trooper outfit. He served in Iraq though and he says "I can handle the heat, babe." Haha...I really hope he changes his mind about that one so he's not miserable.

OH my goodness those Alice in Wonderland costumes have me rethinking my theme! hahahaha~ So cute! But nothing for DS!

I made our costumes -

DH (his was easy)

Dalmation --- Painters overalls and 14 magic markers. I covered his painters overalls with spots - some hidden mickeys......add a bandana, I made and attached a tail. Funny thing - he is tall and VERY thin. The first family that saw us.....called him a COW!!!

Me...Lady Bug....

I made a red cape from tafeta - attached big sparkly black spots - some hidden mickey's of course, stitched it to a black sleeveless sweater (and was prepared to wear a long sleeve sweater under....and made loops for my arms. I only needed 2 loops for each arm.

Black tights and shorts....black headband, pipecleaners and styrofoam balls spraypainted black. They were my bug antenea.

We had a ball.

My hubby and I are going on Sept 22nd tooooo!!

I am thinking Jack and Sally. :confused3

We were gonna do the Greek thing...you know like 300? But I thought that might be too played out. Geesh...this is too hard to decide!!! Here's a pic of us...any ideas???

I really love the Jack and Sally idea! Their costumes are so cute. I'd consider it if we were going later when its cooler. The costumes look like they may get a little warm, more so for Jack. 300 is a good idea and I don't think it'd be over played at all. That movie was like a year or more ago so it would be safe. Plus you know the costumes aren't going to make you sweat to death in the Florida heat. Now I really want to convince Michael to do either a couple costume thing or a movie them. I doubt he'd go for it though. Alice in Wonderland or a 40's couple are my favs right now.

I love your tattoo VillainsRock! Isn't it the case for Snow Whites heart?? Love it love it! :thumbsup2 Sorry to be OT!

There are sooo many cute couples costumes! I was looking at some ADORABLE ones from Alice in Wonderland last night, you could be The Queen of Hearts (since you love villians!), DH could be The Mad Hatter! I just searched "Adult Disney" costumes on Ebay and so much came up! Let us know what you decide!!

We just bought our MNSSHP tickets yesteday for September 22nd. It will be our first trip to MNSSHP with our 2 year old grandson. DH and I think it would be great fun to dress up. However we are having difficullty coming up with costume ideals. It will be me, DH and our DGS. We are looking for something that will be a theme for the three of us as well as appropiate for the hot weather expected at that time of year. We are stumped. Asking for HELP!!!!

OH! I thought of a cute idea for a grown up couple.. that a lot of people might not think of.. Bert and Mary Poppins!

We were there last year for MNSSHP toward the end of October. My niece (4) went as Snow White and I was the Evil Queen. It was a lot of fun to see all the people in their different costumes.

We are going on 9/22, too! I just bought our tix!
:yay:

I have dark brown hair like you, I am going as either Audrey Hepburn (or I guess I should say Holly Golightly) from Breakfast at Tiffany's or as Snow White. My DD is trying to decide which princess to be (we have several costumes to choose from). I am trying to come up with ideas for DH and DS (he'll be 14 months old when we travel).

We're doing 2 parties and several costumes. Of course, I make costumes for a living so that's not a stretch for me!

First night is all about Snow White. DD will be Snow, I'll be the evil queen. My daughter will probably also have a Snow White Rags costume to switch into when she gets hot. You will find me waiting in line for Snow and her 7 friends long before the party even starts. That photo op is part of the reason we're going!

Later that night, my daughter is breaking out her Queen of Hearts costume one more time before she outgrows it. It's a little warm, so she won't wear it all night, but certainly for the Alice Trick or Treat Trail!

Our second night will be all about Cinderella. I'll bring my Fairy Godmother (see the avatar) but it really traps heat, so I'll probably just have it on for pictures. I hope to have a Cinderella rags costume done to wear under it. My daughter will start in Cindy's pink gown (made by the mice) then switch to her new blue gown (still to be made).

We love costume fun, and can't wait for our first (and second!) trips to MNSSHP!

Last year we were in Disney too early, and missed the MNSSHP, but this year we'll be there on Sept 4th, and catch the first party. I just bought the tickets today, so now we have to figure out what costumes we'll all wear for the party.
